When it works they don't question him. When it doesn't they come out the woodworks. The man won a National Championship for crying out loud.

You got all these posters that think they know the game like Hold That Tiger 10 when in reality they don't know jack shite

So he thinks Beck had a better chance at success than his right handed hitters with 100’s of at bats? What does that say about his roster

Chances are absolutely. Our righties looked silly against their closer. So yes, a lefty had a better shot.

If Stanny and Bras went up there and looked terrible while striking out yall would be roasting Jay for leaving 2 lefties on the bench.

You just like flip flopper you will never get it.

Didn't the guy strike out out 3-4-5 hitters in the 8th?

RH hitters were not seeing the ball. LH hitters will see it better and longer than RH hitters will. It's common sense people.

Question the moves all you want that’s sports but I don’t get people acting like Beck is some project freshman. Didn’t he lead the Southland in most offensive categories last year and was a big portal pickup? He has just been lost in the log jam that is our outfield and dh spots but he didn’t stop being a very talented hitter.

He said at 290 “other” programs, just not at LSU. That means, there’s a shite ton of talent at LSU and he’s a good player but just not as good day in and day out as his other teammates. A lot of y’all have a preconceived notion and won’t let yourselves comprehend nor accept what he’s saying. He didn’t win a championship here by mere luck, this guy is legit. He has done a phenomenal job of roster management and portal to bring in phenomenal amounts of talent. His talent assessment in the portal has been excellent, therefore I trust his gut feeling and decision making. Do y’all think he did a great job of pinch hitting Larson the other night which ignited their comeback with a 3 run shot? That takes guts to bring him in struggling but look what he did.

He would have played it different had we not given up 2 in the 9th. He needed magic. It didn’t happen.

It’s not a big deal.

Beck for Stanfield I can't rationalize

That's valid. Tough spot for your 1st SEC at bat.

The truth is we have stupid depth and haven't veen able to work DB in yet

So why did he only have 5 at bats on the year. We’ve got 2 everyday guys on those OF/DH spots that are hitting below .250. I’m assuming you are advocating for Beck to get more of their at bats?

Probably because Larson wasn’t pinch hitting for the leading hitter in SEC play…

Said Beck would be the DH at about 290 programs in the country.

Maybe so? I don’t know, but this was a tough position to put Beck in as well.

I understand it. I still think it was dumb. I would rather have a right handed Stanfield than a left handed Beck. Same thing as me saying on the mound over DJ Primeaux, even if there’s a left handed batter at the plate.

It’s amazing how many people on this board think that a coach that has won a national championship is incapable of making a bad decision.
