That could be part of it. There is definitely some mental issues being played out but there is going to be a lot of mental fatigue that takes place over the course of the season and certainly in post season play. Adversity early can help at the end of the season.

I lol'd when I read this thread title. 2 nattys in 3 years and you're overanalyzing early season games when it's clear our coach is using them as a litmus test to see what certain players are made of. You are holding on to life a little too tightly.

BS your an Lsu baseball player,Period!!
Its Lsu, From top to bottom most of these guys would or should start at other schools. Lsu is and always will be THE standard in baseball. At a least one of the top 3 programs in the nation. No excuse playing this way or that way. Preform or move aside and someone else will get the job done. These kids are being paid now its there job.
Im not a fanatic baseball fan and ive only watched a couple of games so far this season. Thats just how it is and making excuses to why they lost is like a parent that gives out trophies to everyone. Or makes excuses for them when they do stupid shite or act up. It is what it is.

Jay can do what he wants. He has won two of the past three national titles.

He probably doesn't need any advice from folks on the Rant.

That's bull crap. These northern teams have been on the road literally the entire season. This was Northeasterns fourth away game in four days and they beat our arse

With the paragraph structure and terrible grammar and whatever “preform” means, I hope you went to Southern Miss and not LSU.

11 games in 16 days is a tall task.

Travel ball kids 9u-14u are playing this right now

HS kids are playing this right now

Why is it some of us believe the best of the best baseball athletes at this age can't physically or mentally play this many games in the time period?

They are being payed a lot to play baseball. All of these guys played select ball tournamnets growing up playing 5 or 6 games in a weekend.

I want solutions not excuses, like John Taffer.

I mean Jay did say last night it was probably too much. And they put in a lot more time into preparation, practice etc than a travel ball team does.

But no rest for the weary now. Game on Wednesday. If the starters don't have their minds right, we have options.

I think right now it was too much for this team, but i don’t think it was necessarily a mistake to schedule it this way. It could help them later in the season. I do believe the guys are worn out. Look no further than the fact that when the starters came out, the backups outplayed Northeastern like the starters should’ve. They’ll be fine

You win some and you lose some. Is it necessary to win every game? I think not! Oftentimes, it is a good learning experience to have your ego checked by a lesser opponent. Be humble. Work hard! They will turn it around. The season is a marathon.

I’m really thinking these players need a break as well. They are playing like they are exhausted and look like they are ready for the game to end before it even begins.
*

The players only exert themselves at most 10 to 15 times a game, even less given the position play. Its not like football or basketball where they are in continuos motion. They are probably more active in practice running drills than the actual games. They are 20 year old kids in prime condition. Quit over analyzing.
