Time to pay Yeskie and Chief

Jay is 48, and has absolutely no intention of leaving. We're in for some great times.

Baseball does not lose $1 million a year. It struggles to break even or make a profit, but the net loss is usually negligible. Also the net profit/loss does not factor in the exposure LSU receives from the program.
I don't understand how this can happen? Can LSU baseball do something privately or open their own NIL type business specially to turn a profit?

He's come a long way from Point Loma Nazarene.

If college baseball were ever to gain a large national audience, TV contracts for the SEC and NCAA would be added to the other revenue columns on the balance sheet, but really attributable to the baseball program.

That’s what makes basketball unique, in that the balance sheet from 2023 says LSU basketball lost $7mil, but everyone knows that’s just an accounting preference, because the basketball related revenue from SEC and NCAA isn’t included in the basketball programs revenue. Basketball profited over a million that year for LSU, not a $7mil loss.
But some posters on TD are too S-M-R-T to understand that.

So happy to see that you are back, Cheer! You have been greatly missed by the Tiger Baseball faithful. I hope that you are doing well.

I had a medical emergency in April, and spent some time in the hospital. But I am doing a lot better now. I know TD has missed me, so I'm happy to say I'm back.

I don’t want UCLA or USC being great in baseball. Johnson will get the pick of the best from California

Congratulations and well deserved, Coach. Thank you for representing our great university the right way and bringing Fighting Tiger Baseball back to the top of the food chain.

2 championships in 3 years, pay the man his money!

Maybe he can loan some to Ed Orgeron since his ex wife is taking him to the cleaners

Bro the best college baseball coach will never make even half of what the top college football coaches will. I love me some LSU baseball but football is by far the king in sports and the ultimate money maker.

LSU Baseball lost almost $2 million last year (2024). We will lose even more when this year's accounts are settled up. The more we pay our coaches, the further we fall in the red.
The really sad thing is that there really is no external hope (SEC Baseball TV arrangements) of stopping this massive money loss. LSUAD needs to raise ticket prices quite a bit, IMO.
LSUWBB, which has lost more than baseball over the last 3 seasons, has hope to reduce their red ink. The NCAA will start paying teams $$$ based on how far they advance in the NCAA Ty. LSU which has gotten at least to the Elite 8 for three straight seasons, should get a significant payday based on this new payout system. PLUS, the SEC will start, in 2026, to designate a significant rise in teams payout from the SEC WBB tv contract.
Note: My wife and I are season ticket holders in both baseball and WBB.

If he keeps this up, he will almost be making as much as Arch Manning.
