Les Miles has fully lost control of this team!

You idiots on here are insane. If everyone wouldn't say "We winning it all!!" as soon as the coach is hired, maybe, just maybe your expectations wouldn't be as high. Give the man a few seasons before you make an actual opinion.

I know this team will improve and get better. Baseball is funny like that and you can't approach watching it as you would football.

Give it time guys, he's in his first year and definitely has issues to address.

This was a really bad loss.

I don’t want to jump on the negativity bandwagon just yet, but I’m REALLY close.

He is not in his first season either.

You people act like children. Give the brand new coach some time to make this his program.

I agree with the basis for this statement. But when you watch a big time program coach make juvenile blunders SEVERAL times, you must admit there's warranted concern.
Just because he's newer to LSU, doesn't mean he shouldn't have baseball knowledge deeply ingrained

Did we already forget that we were 38-25 (13-17 SEC) last year? We also lost our 2 starting (and best) pitchers from that same team that was one of the last into a regional. We were a fricking 3 seed and sent to Oregon.

I think the expectations (including mine) were way too high this season.

ETA- there are still things that I am disappointed in Jay for, but let’s give it time

Great post

I will reserve judgement until after 2023 season. Let him get one recruiting class under his belt.

But so far not impressed. Why Jordan Thompson is still at SS is beyond me. 10 Fn errors in 20 games

Because his backup had 2 errors in 8 inning of backup play and can’t hit.

I never understood the optimism with this team. The pitching was downright bad on paper, and ultimately that's what will win games. I'll reserve judgment until Jay can recruit some arms into the program.

They may still have a run in them if some young arms step up, and baseball is a funny game, but it certainly looks like this group will be fighting to stay out of last place in the west.

I have friends who think baseball season is better than football season, it’s just laughable.

I think Jay should be given four seasons to prove his salt. Hopefully, recruiting is one of his strong points. Like everyone else, I was fired up about this season. Unfortunately, it looks like the players have not improved since last season.

You'd think given LSU's history of post season rallies, some of these "fans" would know better than to write the season off this early.

You made a Super Regional as 3 seed last year if you forgot.

Well Miss State, Ark, Vandy, make it every year. That’s who LSU is compared to. Schlossnagle also walked into a crap situation. 1st year same deal. Schlossnagle’s team looks simply better. Schlossnagle was also the coach I wanted.

This team is meh. don’t see it changing much as the season progresses. I wrote off this season as a first year transition.

Year 2.. Better see a run at Omaha

Right, so why would they have to be coached up?
