That’s great. Let’s see if he can win without the best pitcher in baseball the last 20 years.

I wonder if some of y’all realize how quick Johnson flipped the pitching talent

Went from AJ Labas, Matthew Beck, Trent Vietmeir, Makil Hilliard and immediately injected top notch pitching talent into the program

lol what a clown take

I would argue NIL did that. Not Johnson

Only a few schools that can pay top dollar and LSU is the leader. Johnson inherited a much higher floor than almost every coach the day NIL legalized.

I hope you are right he made a boneheaded pitching decision to start the 9th today….also next years roster leaves a lot to be desired right now. I’m not as confident in his ability to overcome that as you are.

You’re trying to make a point. The problem is you didn’t make a point.

So you’re in the camp of Jay Johnson deserves no credit but all the blame. That’s what you’re saying.

We have the highest payroll in college baseball and supposed top recruiting classes and you’re happy going 13-17 this season and getting bounced in a regional after making it in by the skin of our arse?

Noted.

First off, no one knows what our payroll is. Its all speculative. I believe there are a couple of schools who pay more, one who may have the best team in the country currently as one. But regardless, you dont put together one of the best rosters assembled last year and not pay for it the following year a little bit.
You seem to be unable to grasp that this is pretty good for a rebuilding year

I believe Arkansas did this season actually. Coached by Dave Van Horn, who you previously mentioned as a better coach than Johnson. How’d they finish the season?

Nope. Already said the season was a disappointment. Next question?

i am happy with how the team fought in the stretch run.

was not supposed to make sect. played in title game

was not supposed to make regional played in title game and was a hair away from a super. a super i think we win and go back to omaha.

after a great year last year and losing so many studs...it happens. guys have to develop. see what he can steal from the portal.

jay will be back.

We will agree to disagree. You don’t get a pass when you have the resources and hand pick all your players.

This isn’t year 1 when he could blame Hilliard as the best P Maineri left him.

13-17 is amateur hour

I agree with not bringing Ack back in.
Jay Johnson has been doing that all year and it has bit him and it finally bit him big time today.

Texas Football is just an average program in the NIL space, right?

Back to back SEC west champs. Pretty consistent and high floor. Imagine if he ever gets NIL support like Jay does to buy kids like Tanks and Skenes

I think all NIL numbers are guesses. If you have a link saying LSU spends significantly more, please share.

I’m sure Arkansas fans are ecstatic over back to back sec west titles. And here’s a little secret, Arkansas has as much or more financial and fan support as LSU. But I’m sure they’re sleeping good tonight after being bounced from their own regional, with those sec west titles and all

Pretty fun take, since we cant factually discuss either guys budget. Do you think arkansas cant buy players?

Ack struck out 3 with no walks, no hit's, and no runs. Jump…. 2 runs, 2 walks and 3 hits. Oh and he lost the game!

Yeah my guess is Skenes, Tommy, Hurd et al came to Baton Rouge to find gymnasts to marry

Probably not since they don’t have an established successful program with top notch facilities and extremely wealthy alumni’s. That’s why none of their programs have done well in the NIL…..

I never said they didn’t get NIL money. In fact, I’m sure they did. But I’m not the one making wild claims about the amount. So, again, please share the NIL spending report of LSU baseball if you have it.

And then Google guys like Payton Tolle, Maui Ahuna, and Cannon Peebles. Thanks.
