Did you read anything that I said? You chose the first sentence? You have comprehension issues. You may want to pick up some reading to help further along your reading level above 5th grade.

And Magician 2 brings up excellent points.

He had 3 yes 3 consensus AA in the lineup.
Our rival in college station with a first year head coach took his team to Omaha when his team was dogshit 29-27 year prior.

They’re excellent points if you’re not interested in any context or nuance

Sure, but I was just saying at face value what he was bringing up.

I think he had a great first year with no starting rotation. On the other hand he has got to know and I am sure he does that being at the bottom half of the SEC in defense will not fly here. He got away with it at Arizona but will not here in the SEC. They did improve the last half of the year on defense. Having a better starting rotation will help cut down on the errors as well.

I think he's a good coach but i like a little shite show in my head coach Lane K., Tony V, Will Wade style... He's a little too emotionless for me but I think he's done a great job in all honesty.

The posters ridiculing Johnson have no grasp of either of those things obviously

They aren’t worth engaging

He's acting like JJ doesn't know baseball and doesn't realize he needs to improve a defense here. I agree with JJ you prioritize the pitching and hitting first, then work on defense. Besides, it becomes less an issue if he keeps recruiting the bullpen LSU is about to have when you have a bullpen of power pitchers who can dominate batters. When you're not giving them much opportunity with contact pitchers it becomes less relevant to have a strong defense because the roster will be loaded with commanding power pitchers. Also, good point the teams playing now aren't good on defense this year. We have the pieces to be much better on defense. They'll improve, imo.

thanks Russian!

So he inherited a shitty fielding SS and secondbaseman. But you knew that. Wait, he needed to sit Doughty a first or second round pick. No, he needed to try him out at SS… wait, he did that to. HE HAD NO BETTER CHOICE THAN THOMPSON. Look at the last several games that Thompson played WHEN IT COUNTED. You fricking dumbass will see where his fielding wasn’t the issue. IT WAS PITCHING or lack thereof.

You’re such a fool.

Jay Johnson just picked up a stud pitcher in Christian Little, and the best bat in the portal in Tommy Tanks. Tanks hit for the same average as a freshman that Dylan Crews did his freshman year (0.362) but also hit 9 more homeruns than Crews did his freshman year (27 total) and had 32 more rbi (74 total). He also brought in a terrific leadoff hitter and shortstop earlier this week in Jack Pineda. Before that he brought in the Big East pitcher of the year the last two years and he's not even finished.

What the frick is your problem? Both you and Magician2 are horrible representatives of the LSU baseball fan base. Quit bitching about Jay Johnson and watch him work.

FWIW, my neighbor is friends with Canevari. Canevari told him that Johnson was one of the hardest working head coaches he's seen.

You left out 2016, Johnson’s first year at Arizona:
2016 Arizona: 21st (.977)
2016 LSU: 32nd (.976)

He’ll leave out a lot of things that don’t fit the narrative. While magician may point out valid things in ONE aspect of the game, he neglects the improvement in all others. When LSU wins a game, he’s nowhere to be found. Lose by a couple runs and make an error or two, he’ll be here 5 mins after with a thread copy and paste the same shite.

Ok…

We hit well.

Having 1 starting pitcher was kinda the issue.

Paul retired for a reason.
