When he pulled Evans, he put the game up for grabs, and that is where it is right now with two out in the 9th. Why he allows these pitchers that can't throw strikes to enter a game is beyond comprehension.

He didn’t want to burn Evans. He wanted to give Benge a shot to close it out. He probably won’t do that next time and he’ll try someone else.

Bama never even got the tying run to the plate. The time to bring in someone like Binge is when walks won’t kill you.
Binge is showing he can’t be relied on in tight situations.

And they still won by 5 runs limiting Cowan to only 4 pitches and leaving open the possibility of Evans pitching in Game 3. It was worth the gamble. He got him out before the game was in danger.
