He was hitting like shite before SEC play this season

YOU dragged the conversation into LSU got lucky last year talk. No one else. You. Stop whining that people called you stupid for that.

That’s totally separate from baseball strategy discussion.

Ok…..

So we have a large sample size of data that says he’s not very good.

Yeah I am not whining buddy. I didn’t say we got lucky. I said we WERE lucky to have players step up at the right times. None of which Jay “developed” or “pulled the right stings.” No one is dogging me but you and Josh. If you like ratios so much you should pay attention to the conversation.

We also have a large sample size that says a heralded high school recruit was better in year 1 with the coach than year 2 thus far, and by a large margin

JJ is a big believer in analytics! Should learn to trust his gut more! Players well know this, as witnessed by their reactions, especially pitching changes!

This has been proven flatly wrong many times. Cade Beloso went from being a cheerleader that almost quit to leading off game 3 of the title series.

But sure

He also was coming off an ACL injury and was starting game one of which he tore it. What’s your point?

Idk man. You’re right I guess, Cade Beloso was star before last season. I’m misremembering I guess.

I don’t hate our coach, I am simply proving the fact that he is not a good game manager right now. What moves has he made that has paid off this year? We had the No 1 and 2 draft pick last year as well as a wealth of top 15 round draft picks. Now we don’t, and we are last in the SEC. None of that is false. You are just ready to white knight for him as if he can’t be questioned at all!

No one here is arguing that the moves this season havent worked. But you are arguing that he didnt develop anyone last year and didnt pull the right strings. Thats insane

This is a young team making young mistakes

Bingham - SR

Neal - DE SO
Trav - 5Y SR
Pearson - JR
Braswell - JR
Larson - FR
Milam - FR
Jump - RS SO

Milazzo 5Y SR
Nippolt SR
Frey SO
Kling DE SO

All but Larson and Milam and maybe Frey are draft eligible after this season. The "young team" narrative needs to go away. The time to make mistakes is in fall camp, preseason scrimmages, and early series against Vermont Southern.

Did we or did we not have the most talented roster in the country last year? We did.

Did we win the SEC or the SEC west? No.

Did we barely beat wake forest because of a once in a lifetime play by our first baseman and a clutch bomb by the freshman record holder in HR’s at another school? Yes.

I can play devils advocate as well as you can.

Going from “bad” to “really bad” doesn’t really move the needle partner.

He hit like 280 all the way back in 2019. I would expect someone who got hurt and spent 2 years working out to come back better, no?

Nah, it has merit. A draft eligible sophomore is only 1.5 seasons end, they are still young. 4/9 of our lineup is usually freshmen or sophomores, thats alot to be honest. How do i know, i literally checked every starting lineups classification during regionals last year
