Who cares? College basketball is a joke anyway with the one and done crap. I would live to support the basketball team more but it’s hard when you know there is a different team every year. They should make basketball like football and have to stay 3 years if you go the college route. These kids come to “college” for a year, never go to class and are out the door the second the season ends. Players who are good enough should be able to go to the NBA from high school again but players who aren’t ready should have to stay at least 3 years.

Dunno where he’d be projected but yes he’s easily a second round talent and likely higher.

There may be a grain of truth to this assertion. What's real is that Will Wade inadvertently created a monster. His team got puffed up egos as to their own material worth based upon Wade's coaching prowess.

None of these guys are NBA material imo. They'll all flame out if they're even drafted.
They each have flaws/holes, but several have potential.

Reid is overrating himself if he thinks he's a lotto pick, but he's got the tools and size to be a good NBA player. You can't coach 6'10 250, you either are big or you're not (see- Emmett Williams, too short). And he already has a nice touch on his 3 pt shot, that can be honed.

He's not polished and doesn't currently have an NBA-ready jumper, but I'd argue that he has an absolute ton of potential. He's got a Gary Payton body with a Rajon Rondo style of play, and that can definitely translate to the NBA. He has a very awkward style of drive that is tough to contest, even with bigs chasing him- goes high off the glass. I think he could develop into a shutdown defender on the perimeter.

I agree Mays doesn't have much upside, but he's probably going to med school anyway. And ironically, the best player, Waters, is the one most limited, because he's "too short". Give him 3 inches and he's a first rd pick.

I don’t see him getting drafted but i do think he’s just ready to start his pro career. He’ll be a surefire G-League guy with a chance to climb the ladder like AB and Sampson. Even Aaron Epps just signed a big deal with a team in France so there’s always the opportunity to get paid overseas.

I think WW was honest with his players and told them to jump ship before LSU gets hammered for illegal recruiting

The NIT? If Wade doesn’t return they will be lucky to not be the worst P5 team in the country.

You should go ahead and stop being a fan right now if you think this.

Comical.

Is this really comical? Let's look at this

If everyone who declared stays in the draft LSU is losing their top 4 scorers plus the starting center who essentially anchored the defense.

Of players who got significant ppl playing time last season they return Emmitt Williams, Marlon Taylor, and Darius Days

There are two recruits coming in. One a 3 star PG from Maryland and the other a two star JUCO SG/SF.

So that's three returning players. Two recruits (who aren't on the level of any of the four recruits LSU brought in in 2018) and maybe someone off the bench like Marshall Graves who didn't play much last season but will have to step up.

Can you really see that team even going .500 in the SEC?

We'd actually need a miracle to get all five of those for next season if Wade's gone.

It's a bit early to go into full blown freakout mode (of course, when had that stopped the Rant before)

For reference, last year 181 college players declared early for the 2018 draft. ONE.HUNDRED.EIGHTY-ONE!

You might recognize some of these names:

Bryce Brown - Auburn
Terence Davis - Ole Miss
Carsen Edwards - Purdue
Bruno Fernando - Maryland
Admon Gilder - A&M
Jared Harper - Auburn
Jalen Hudson - Florida
Fletcher Magee - Wofford
Lamar Peters - Miss. St.
Admiral Schofield - Tennessee
Reid Travis - Stanford
Nick Ward - Michigan St.
P.J. Washington - Kentucky
Quinndary Weatherspoon - Miss. St.
Austin Wiley - Auburn

What do they have in common? You all saw them (and many more) play college basketball THIS year despite declaring for the draft. And that was BEFORE the new rule changes that made it LESS consequential to "test the waters"
