Alabama took a cheap shot at Jayden and knocked him out of the game.

Without being flagged.

The difference is that Kelly followed his mistake up with hiring arguably the best defensive staff in the country.

Les hired John Chavis. He was regarded as one of the best DCs in the country.

Let’s not rewrite history here.

And don’t forget his special teams/recruiting coordinator guru hire Polian.
When it came to putting together a defense and special teams staff, Kelly didn’t just miss on a couple, he went O-fer. But, to his credit, what $20 million (?) in salary and buyouts later, he fixed it

This is crazy talk. Nobody looks up BK’s past DC hires? He tried to bring in Brad White but he decided to stay at Kentucky and recommended Matt House.

Poor coaching, bad decisions in critical moments, and a shitty defense.

Do you think when we get to 4th and goal from the Clemson 4 on the opening drive he’ll finally learn his lesson and take the points?

Hell no - he will have to try to show how big his nuts are by going for it. Then when we run a crappy play and don't make it he will say we always play aggressively, but we only lost by 2 points!! Hubris, plain and simple.

I say points are the real result of aggressive football. Not every drive will be a touchdown.

Kelly’s incompetence cost us a national title.

He’s really that bad.

Lester Miles cost Leonard Fournette not one but TWO Heisman trophies.. none of this is new .

Thanks to Brian Kelly and LSU's all time worse defense
It was horrible but Polini in 2020 owns this. The first game was so bad. Everyone out of position and nothing ever changed.

Literally the only time in two seasons anyone has stopped JD5, you’ll never convince me $atan didn’t order the hit. He was clearly frustrated at their inability to stop him, running QB’s were always his Kryptonite

agreed.

the main difference is Brick Haley vs Bo Davis. Ron Cooper was there for part of Chavis as was Corey Raymond.

Interesting to note that if our D was decent last year, JD5, Malik and BTJ numbers wouldn't have been as good bc when you're up 35-7 at the end of 3rd qtr they'd be out. Having a terrible defense actually helped our offensive studs have phenomenal seasons.

I think our 2019 stats were so yuuuge because our defense got off to a rocky start and gradually improved over the year, coupled with how fast our offense could score

If/When the Brian Kelly experiment doesn't work, what about Curt Cignetti?

That dude has freaking Indiana at 6-0!!!
