He smacks the cover off the ball, as long as it’s not off speed lol

It’s very noticeable how much better he is at recognizing and hitting off speed pitches this year compared to how abysmal he was last year and even now compared to the season start.

Folks still ragging on Bear for his effort vs the curve dont know ball.

His pitch recognition has improved dramatically this season. Leads the team in walks in fact.

116.5 mph would be the 3rd highest max exit velo in the MLB this year behind Giancarlo Stanton and Fernando Tatis, Jr. whose max is 116.7.

Obviously different bats, but that's the kind of power we're talking about.

Kling absolutely pissed on that ball to left center. Wind just killed it.

Jones hit one 116 MPH against I think Central Arkansas with a perfect launch angle and it died in the wind.

Jones was so lost once into SEC play in 2023. He has made great strides this year and it irks me when people talk shite about him:

2023 vs 2024

K% 34% vs 25%
BB% 17% vs 19%
HR/AB 11 vs 7
ISO .335 vs .455

Agreed. He has been a ton of fun to watch improve this year. He's also been content sitting back on pitches and launching "pop ups" over the right field wall.

Not to mention his defensive improvements at 1B.

Jones is much improved at the plate and at 1b
He will have an interesting draft decision to make
Start pro ball or come back and possibly put up a Charlie condon type season next year with additional improvement

It really is all reputation.

He absolutely has an issue last year and every time he swings as a breaking ball down and away people dawg him.

they just aren’t watching close enough to realize that’s happening way less.

He is hitting just about .270 in SEC play with power.

The fact he is 10mph faster than the next guy is a pretty solid statistic

The balls are definitely juiced, every team seems to have a guy hitting them 116-118mph off the bat. But still, its hard to ignore his ability

I agree, but he leads the team with 44 SO, mostly on curve balls
