Hate piece on LSU by Joe Rexrode of The Athletic. Yes, I know it's behind a paywall, so if anyone knows a work around that would be great. Here's the link

LINK

A small excerpt:

If there’s a coach for the haters to focus their energy on in the wake of this result, how about a coach who was hundreds of miles away from playing in this game? The coach who left Notre Dame for a better chance at winning a natty and now gets to watch Notre Dame on TV playing for a natty? Brian Kelly is Thursday’s underrated loser.

“I want to be in an environment where I have the resources to win a national championship,” Kelly said in the spring of 2022, shortly after leaving Notre Dame for LSU.

The personality contrast, Freeman with the former boss whose face contorts and reddens as he screams at players and coaches on his sideline, is part of why people are reveling in the way things have gone. Of course, it is.

Franklin got emotional as he talked to reporters, saying, “I want this experience to be so much more than a transactional experience. I want it to be transformational.” He called Penn State “a throwback program,” which seems about right and about like Notre Dame.

Also like Notre Dame, it’s a better program than LSU.

Why would you want to read a dumb article behind a paywall?

It's a silly argument. I implore any smartass or dumbass to go look at the teams Kelly lost to in the national championship and playoff. Kelly didn't play scrubs, he played teams that could easily be listed as the best teams of the last 25 years, while he had Notre Dame talent.

This year's Ohio St team would get double digit smacked by those Clemson and Bama teams, but at least they are good eniugh to double digit smack ND.

Anyone who pays for or writes for the athletic likes to sniff their own farts.

The smugness and pretentiousness oozes with every typed word in that idiotic publication.

LSU has three national championships in the last 21 years while Notre Dame and Penn State have combined for a big fat zero in that time span.

Results speak for themselves. Sounds like a salty, shortsighted article to me.

These reporters know nothing about the real situations or environments.

Haters are going to hate. He’s entitled to his opinion obviously but just as obvious wrong.

Hate on BK all you want- frankly he deserves it and he had every opportunity to win a natty with Jayden, Malik, and BTJ and chose to let the defense be one of the biggest dumpster fires in school history instead, but how anyone can compare Notre Dame and Penn State’s programs to LSU is beyond me when we’re so much better in the last 30 years it isn’t even close. Time flies and Penn State and ND’s “dominant runs” are going on 60+ years ago. They don’t even deserve to be mentioned in the same tier as us much less as better programs

Judge me in year 3. Well in year 3 those teams are better than LSU.

Sucks, but is the reality.

Kelly probably agrees with this sentiment.
