I dunno. I do know Burrows insistence on having the Bengals draft him in top 5 is underrated. there may be better WRs out there but the Bengals would not have been in the SB without Chase.

The only question mark is that - he's never played with another QB. Their chemistry is literally one for the ages.

I think you were in the "Reed vs. Chase" thread a few days back, but regardless, folks who don't recognize that Chase is the first WR you take if you are picking an "all time" LSU team are picking players for "other than football" reasons, whether it be nostalgia or what have you.

So, you have a 6'1", 210 pounder (who actually plays a little bigger) with blistering acceleration and ball skills to match. The only real knocks are (from college) that he played too upright and maybe relied on his athleticism too much. Around 1 in 4 of his catches at LSU were TDs with an almost 20 ypc average. That means an "average" play by Chase was a big play. And, that would be 1 thing if he was a situational player always drawing a younger/3rd CB, but he was the top threat, an every down receiver who typically drew the #1 corner from the other team and, often, double coverage.

The offensive strategy for 2019 was built around the Burrow to Chase connection. It forced opposing defenses to solve that equation, while still minimizing the other threats our offensive team posed. That only happens with the elite of elite talent.

Chase’s second contract will reset the WR’er market.

Nah, I’m taking Jefferson in fantasy over Chase. So is pretty much everyone else.

LOL more fantasy points doesn't make you a better player. Jalen Hurts is a top 10 QB if you go by fantasy points

I think Chase does go #1 over terms of talent but the line is clearly very thin. the interesting hypothetical is does LSU have the first 2 WRs drafted in a leaguewide draft. I think the answer is yes. Kupp is older

If you’re in a POR league it’s a no brainer. 10 catches 100 yards and a TD is worth a lot more than 1 hundred yard TD catch.

I wasn’t sold on Chase until the Tx game in 2019. I think it was a deep ball down the right sideline where he just went vertical and beat the DB to the ball. He did it again in the third quarter. He’s been doing it ever since. When the ball is in the air, there’s no one better to go get it.

Last year, you asshats were saying Ja’Marr was not only on pace to ruin his career, but also Joe Burrow’s. And that Cincy should’ve drafted the Fat Pac 10 tackle that also sat out due to Covid instead of guaranteed HOF WR Chase, who had and still has elite chemistry with Burrow.

Glad you casuals have finally come around.

I don’t think any WR in NFL history has received the praise that Chase has after only playing one season. He is a phenomenal player though, no doubt

Because he is the best. Guaranteed if the NFL did a draft, Chase is the first receiver taken.

Wait what? I always said the Bengals should draft him and started threads early in 2019 saying he was the best receiver in the country. What the frick are you talking about

And when did anyone last year say he was on pace to ruin him and Burrow’s career? What in the actual frick kind of drivel are you spewing?

He is talking in generalities about lsu fans that were shitting on him when he started with drops issues. Sitting out a year and then started with drops had lsu bitches whining. You know how we love to eat our own for no fricking reason.

I love how Chase was criticized as a “quitter”, for sitting out a bullshite Covid season and being the top receiver taken in the draft, but Myles Brennan is a “true tiger”, when he quit 3 weeks before the first game because he was told he wouldn’t start.

Perhaps it wasn’t you, but there was an entire thread about it and it was heavily upvoted

Just like your thread today was heavily upvoted.

I was moreso holding the board accountable, not you. I can’t remember everyone’s specific take.

I will say if you have always been Team Ja’Marr, you are in the minority on this board. 90% of the fanbase bailed on him and at least 80% thought Cincy should take the random Tackle we knew nothing about, instead of the WR we knew a lot about.

It was absolutely baffling.

Look at the first round picks that he torched in just a short time. He is one example of a player that hit his collegiate ceiling.

Perhaps? Don’t make statements like “you arse hats”, or “you casuals” when you don’t even know who you are referring to. You’re an arse hat and a casual. How is that?

Youll never go broke betting on the hypocrisy of the rant.
