what would the opinion be on this board if Flynn was the starter in Green Bay and this news came out? Hmmm

Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. But again, Jamarcus has improved every year since he stepped foot on campus. Why wouldn't you reserve judgment until he levels off below his potential level or until he regresses, to assume the worst?

I'm talking about a passion for the game. Brett Favre, Tim Tebow, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees. Not talent wise or who has the better team...but the will to win. A Jerry Rice or Nolan Ryan work ethic during the off season to stay in shape. Doing whatever you have to do to give your team the best chance to win. He has been given 63 million reasons to do this. Now it's time for him to get up off the couch, put down his Coca Cola and bag of Cheesy Poofs and go to work. Forget about the full length mink pimp coats and "Bama Boyz" elephant head bling and get the job done.

The same as it is for JR. Thank you, Al Sharpton, for your input.

Can't speak for others, but my opinion would remain the same ... these guys should show up to training camp ready to go. It has nothing to do with race (which is what you're trying to imply).

He got stuck with the Raiders. @ least he was more of a man than Eli or Elway refusing to play for the team who draftes them. He could have refused the Raiders and demanded to go to a better team. And when has Al Davis given 100% for his team? Marcus Allen anyone?

How many times did Culpepper show up in less than ideal weight? Leftwich? Davey? The answer: pretty much every time.

I love Jamarcus, but these 3 guys are your argument FOR showing up to camp as a fatass?

As soon as the Raiders signed Jeff Garcia, Jamarcus should have figured out that he needs to be at his best for training camp. I'd like to know the Vegas odds that Jamarcus is starting for the Raiders Week 10. I'm pulling for the guy, but this doesn't look good.

The same Favre that retires to get out of practicing and the off the field work required to get better, and even admitted as such? That Farve? So you and many others that "hate" on Jamarcus might give Farve a free pass for being a gunslinger that doesn't have the best attitude about off the field work? Then you critisize Jamarcus even though he continues to improve on the field... That just shows that you and others have some kind of non-football related dislike of an LSU alum, even while he works on being more successful. And that is a shame.

None of those guys failed because of their of weight issues, nor do I think weight issues were a part of a bad attitude. Well maybe Davey.. Culpepper just has/had a big frame. He worked hard to stay in shape but it was often difficult for him. Leftwich was a great teammate and hard worker by all accounts.

You've got to be kidding! Favre is freakin' 40 years old and has at least paid his dues. When JR reaches Favre's stature, he can show up to training camp fat and out of shape, but he should at least prove himself first. Pro athletes who don't recognize what a gift they've been given really make me sick, and I don't care where they played college ball.
