So he hates Jamarcus with a passion. Actually quite pitiful.

I would love to compare my net worth to yours. I promise you I'm worth more than 100 lifetimes than you.

Jamarcus was an all-time great LSU QB, so I will always remember him for that.

But this is sad. He sounds washed up and full of regret. Dude just move on with your life, your football days are over.

Sorry Jamarcus but the door is closed. Your reputation is your legacy.

He was drafted 8 or 9 years ago. I loved him as a Tiger but he needs to just move on...

I just don't believe that he really wants to play. He should have taken a year or so off, after the Raiders cut him, to get his head right and straighten out his personal life. After that, he should have been training and playing. He could have gone to the CFL or Arena, just anywhere to play. Hundreds of guys have played there way into the NFL that way. He just hasn't done anything to deserve another look, especially all these years later..

"Play for free" vs. work your way up/make a career through the Canadian Football League/Arena leagues?

I get it. The NFL has a lot of terrible quarterbacks right now. However, bad situation or not, Jamarcus was also one of them.

Not the best comparison, but Kurt Warner went undrafted, stocked groceries and played 3 seasons with the Iowa Barnstormers (Arena Football League) and 1 season with the Amsterdam Admirals (NFL-Europe) before getting onto the St. Louis Rams roster.

I'm surprise he hasn't gotten one. There must be some really bad behind the scenes stuff that nobody knows about.

It's just odd Flynn is regarded as a "winner" simply because that team caught the necessary breaks to play for the NC.

Heck, I guess we could say the same for Warren Morris or Matt Mauck. They were just in the right place at the right time.

Honestly, I would like to see the Cowboys tell JR to come on down. But JR, you better be in playing shape when practice starts.
How much would you bet that he would take the offer?

What about Flynn making the same statement. Which of the two would you put your money on for being in shape?

being an NFL QB is MUCH, MUCH MORE than simply having a cannon and being in physical shape.

The NFL game is extremely mental, and the QB has to make so many reads and decisions (pre-snap and post-snap) on every play. So much more than college.

If it were all physical, Russell would be a Pro-Bowler right now.

Wasn't there some Codeine allegations, even at the time he was cut?

It's just because they get him confused for JJ.

No reason for teams with QB concerns not to give him an opportunity if he's willing to play for league minimum.

Bring him in and see what he can do. Don't have to sign him if he's not up to the task.

There may be a fear that he may actually look good. He has the raw talent to look good in a vacuum.

Then when he gets the gig, he descends right back down to his baseline. He's not even worth bringing in for a workout. He should try out for the CFL and put together a body of work before he gets another shot at the NFL.

It's a lesson in psychology for me.

People are so dissatisfied with their lives that they see someone who has achieved more than them in over a few years than they do in their whole life. That person also happens to be affiliated with their favorite team - the team with whom they put their only hopes of happiness, pride and self-validation. When said person who used to play for that team fails to reach the pinnacle of professional success, whether it's for personal reasons, bad luck or just laziness, they take it personally as if that person has defamed them or embarrassed them. They impute the failure of the athlete on themselves. It's sad, bizarre, befuddling and kind of hilarious all at the same time.

So he plays three years for LSU, has one of the greatest season's ever for an LSU QB but wears some Bama stuff several years later so it's OK to hate his guts? OK. You need help, man.

I wonder how many people know he's actually from Alabama.

Actually I'm pretty happy with my life. Don't hate JR or anyone else. I certainly don't feel sorry for a guy, as you have said, made more money than I will ever see.
He fulfilled his dreams. Why should anyone feel sorry for him.

I never said anyone should feel sorry for him, notwithstanding the fact that he did have to deal with a very real personal tragedy shortly after he was drafted. But he isn't the only player to deal with tragedy.

That said, I just think the venom directed towards him is silly and pathetic. It's not warranted and reflects on just how terrible our fan base, and people in general, can be.
