Absolutely correct about the funding argument.

Thanks for posting this about the ratio of non-music major marching band members. Several Engineers, doctors, lawyers, and pilots, etc. were also former members of Tiger Band.

LSU isn't a low budget high school in a low population rural area Mr. Holland's jerk. Nothing you say will ever justify your ignorant self-satisfying comments. Go open up your own university and disallow a music program if you feel so strongly about it. Despite what you want to believe, most of the music you listen to on your MP3 player your parents bought you comes from formally taught musicians to some extent.

Again, I'm sorry. Maybe the next appointed marching band director will allow you to march in their band.

You still have no point. Are you really suggesting that the majority of the Marching band are music majors? Are you making your theories up as you go along?

LSU has a premium Music program and has for years. Guest artists on board to get PhD's at LSU. It isn't going anywhere.

Is that right? Is that why all major colleges are cutting their marching band programs?

Maybe you should elaborate. Or go away.

No. You are wrong. Will never happen.

Tiger Band is very much a part of the football experience that your said fans have seen since ever. Just because you don't care doesn't mean noone else should.

I would bet my house that less fans care what you have to say.

Sorry to hurt your feelings. Also sorry Roy denied you marching in his band.

Only everyone that posted before you did here. And several years worth of former students who respect him, and also several newspapers and news outlets.

What a terribly dumb comment. Wow. Do us all a favor, and never have an opinion about anything ever again. Ever.

Our starters not getting arrested...

...or making the newspapers for any other dumb reason.

All the talent in the world is for nothing without leadership before the season even starts.

Exactly. I think younger folks expect to hear Beyonce or some sort of Hip Hop booty music halftime show. Go to a Southern game if you want all that blasting out of tune noise and headache. Not every popular radio jam can be transferred onto the field.

Personally, I always thought STTDB was utterly tasteless. I am willing to bet the lovers of that chant do not like Roy King.

I think they will give the year at a minimum.

Will he have a strong case for additional moneys for the breach of policy and how they handled it all? I think so.

I completely agree with you.

What did Talley think would happen here? That Roy would silently walk off with his tail between his legs and not fight to defend his honor and integrity?

I read the suit last night. Pretty shady alarming stuff in there. Anyone else think this will hurt Tiger Band recruitment?
Overloaded expectations based on past seasons.
Wasn't there some Codeine allegations, even at the time he was cut?
Possible. They may not replace him at all and handle with existing staff though.
Terrible news. Sorry to read this.

I am hoping the program can recover and thrive with whoever the replacement may be.
Being qualified means you have to have a PhD? For marching band? Do all DCI directors have PhD's? I realize we are talking about college and all, but I have had some awful college professors back in my day with fancy multiple degrees and not be able to teach letters of the alphabet.

And then I had Grad assistants teach me everything I ever wanted to know about anything because their heart was in what they were teaching.

Just saying there is a difference.
