A lot of others were him blitzing or making plays on the ball on running plays or after the receivers caught the ball.

That’s part of defense. I would agree with you that there were better cover corners, but his versatility and playmaking ability (special teams aside) puts him above the rest

I started attending LSU games when I was a kid in the late 1970's and have been a season ticket holder for more than 30 years.

I'll be your first upvote. I recall seeing him make a very difficult open field tackle his Fr year that many in the stands didn't go crazy for because it was a positive gain on a pass in the flats.
But I leaned over to the gf and explained that what he'd just done was NOT normal and that kid was gonna be our nex star DB. 7/10 of those plays the first guy misses or gets an arm tackle. He closed, lowered, dropped the RB better than I've seen many NFL DBs do. Many casual fans don't know how hard it is to NOT get juked when you go low in that situation. Anyhoots. I am a huge Adams fan.

He may not be the flash and big play guy like TM7 or PP7 but he's a much much more disciplined player and better tackler.

Not a bad topic. He belongs in the top 5-10 talk.

Funny you say that. Grant made a tackle in an early season game and I said "holy shite the mfer is hitting like Jamal!". Delpit may very well have his number on the Stadium one day. Amazingly talented.

The pass deflection Delpit made against Georgia last year was inhuman.

No defender have I ever seen attacked the football every single time he had a chance. He never went for the tackle almost ever, the game had slowed for him and he had the most active hands I have ever seen and it translated to a dif type of defense it seemed that lsu was purposely not bringing ball carriera to the ground but standing them up so TM could get a shot at the ball and it translated to everyone on the team attacking the ball. offensive players were fighting and clawing to get on the damn ground at times it was insane. ?? I wish lsu could get a guy like him again

Bradie James and Laron Landry were absolute monsters at LSU. Landry is an all time Tiger great and was the most physical safety we’ve ever had, even more so than Adams.

the best tackling DB ever at LSU, he seemed to have a thorough understanding at all times of what the offense was trying to do.

Upvote for making a decent case
