I think people need to lay off of Michael Vick. He did his time and is a great example of someone who the system worked for and rehabilitated.

I agree. I live in Atlanta and I believe Vick also paid back all his debts when he probably could've skated a bit.

He's done well after prison and I have to give him full credit for that.

Well that's bull. The "system" didn't work. The motivation of a multi-million dollar job waiting on the other side is what worked. Confinement in a cage doesn't cure a mind deranged enough to torture dogs for profit.

I bet his prison yard football team went undefeated while he was in.

I don't know, Cecil Collins might have been on the other team.

Our modern society does not accept it, but the founding fathers enjoyed it, and it is a popular sport in many parts of the world.

It isn't an incurable mental disease or affliction. It's just something western society has recently evolved to look down on.

Hit the Wikipedia page on dogfighting.

"in the United States, dog fighting was once completely legal and was sanctioned and promoted during the colonial period through the Victorian and well into the 20th century. In the second half 19th century dog fighting started to be criminalized in the United States."

"Although animal cruelty laws exist in Russia, dog fighting is widely practiced."

"Previously banned by the Taliban, dog fighting has made a resurgence throughout Afghanistan as a winter weekend pastime."

"Dog fighting and other forms of animal fighting are extremely popular in all parts of rural Pakistan, and is deeply rooted in the rural culture"

"Dog fighting was considered a way for the Samurai to retain their aggressive edge during peaceful times."

I can't forgive someone who did what he did.
