Aaron Nola is the best pitcher to ever come to or out of LSU for a long time.

Best since Nola I think stuff wise. Kid is definitely making it to the big leagues if he’s healthy, 98 fastball and can get his CU down to 84 with a nasty slider

He reminds me of Kumar Rocker for Vandy last year.

Cotton was pretty good in the same role

Nola was the best. Period. Ben had great stuff, but he was not as consistent as Nola.

Are they stretching him out each game with the thought being he’s going to start soon?

Stuff-wise Nola didn’t have this

He had good stuff but wasn’t blowing people away. He won because he could knock a tick off a bears back from 60 feet

As Coach O famously coined, let’s hope and pray

Not an answer to the question but this kid reminds me of Nolan Ryan in his wind-up/delivery. Leg kick is almost identical. As far as LSU guys, stuff-wise Lange could be as dominant as anyone I've seen in college. Nola was just a much, much better "pitcher".

Thinking about the same thing but it's hard to compare Hill to all time greats because he simply hasn't pitched enough.

But FTR, some don't realize how hard Nola throws. He's pretty much a mid 90s guy all game long.

Why? I don’t get this logic at all.

You want your best arm throwing 100 pitches a weekend and having the ability to control a Friday or Saturday outcome.

Why do you think relievers and closers aren’t as valuable as starters? You absolutely want Hill starting if he’s you best arm and can give you 100 pitches every weekend. If he and Henry can do that it would give LSU it’s best chance to win series’s in the sec. No two ways about it

The run on his 2 seamer is disgusting. And when he has his curve going it's damn near unhittable

Now he is. At LSU he was more around 90 or low 90s

Hey we finally agree on something

But seriously, if he's feeling well and continues throwing like this I think PM may be setting him up to break into the starting rotation around SEC tourney time

It's hard to really appreciate how advanced Nola was with his ability to locate. He didn't throw anything that didn't have movement. His ability to stay down and on the corners with that kinda run was just crazy!
