I think he found a home at that nickel/coverage linebacker spot. Good pass rusher and making plays covering the middle. He's done an excellent job in the A&M and bowl game.

Stevens is simply a football player. I am so glad the coaches have finally figured out how to get him on the field.

Yep. Looks like the light switch came on, and we are finally seeing what we all expected. Hopefully he is a beast all next season.

If he plays like he did against UCF most games next year, the NFL will want him pretty bad. Can rush, tackle solidly, and drop way back into zone plus run with the faster players.

Grateful that he’s on the field, period.

Disappointed it took us this long to figure out where to put a 5 star recruit....again.

They should use him just like Ali Highsmith.

i've said since his recruitment that his natural position is LB

he would have only had to put on about 15 lbs as a true freshman to get to be the right size

this edge/rover position is interesting but i think it may hurt his pro potential (where he will end up bulking up to play LB)

He just finished his sophomore season man. He's been on the field in plenty of different positions. You fail to realize how talented LSU is at most positions. Just because he is a 5 star, and talented, doesn't mean he will just step on campus and be the best player on the team. Some of you have zero patience.

He's multi-talented and fast, so it's good that they've found a hybrid/wildcard role for him. I trust Aranda to play our kids to their strengths and develop them.

utilizing delpit and stevens at same time next year will be quite scary. I think Stevens will take some of Delpits stats away tbh.

He could be CJ Mosley, who is a very good pro.

ETA:

Mosley was 6'2" 234 at the combine. Probably plays a little heavier than that now.

Stevens is 6'2" (at least) and probably around 225-230 right now.

Wut.

He just wrapped up his sophomore season, and has played in every game. Had a huge sack in the Georgia game, almost housed a punt return vs. SLU.

1st team: Stevens, Queen, Phillips, Chaisson
2nd team: Divinity, Baskerville, Clark, Moore, Cherry, Anthony

That’s a pretty scary set of LB’s on the field.
Not to mention we can rush the passer with Chaisson, Stevens or Delpit at any point. If Shelvin can continue to progress the sky is the limit.

Stevens is the classic "sic 'em" defender.
The light has come on re both the coaches & JaCoby.
His closing speed reminds me of D White, which ain't bad!

Divinity was great this year imo, doubtful he's not a starter next year.
