Stop being so negative you douche. O has a plan and if it’s replacing the biggest freak athlete prospect at the position in history with an undersized freshman, so be it. Did you see his lunch pail?

Arik ran a 4.9 40yrd dash and had a 30” vertical. Those doesn’t scream explosive or freak athlete.

This is not ideal for Bech or LSU.

Yes and no.

LSU needs depth and another weapon at TE - Bech wants to contribute to the team this year on offense.

This seems like a no brainer to at least see what he can do there for both parties. This just might work out bigly.

Moss was actually a very good blocker for a TE, and he was around 250.

There really isn't a comparable skill set here.

Bech was the best skill position player in the entire state of Louisiana last year

If he was black, you would be hyped. He will be more productive than Gilbert was last year

It’s going to be closer to an HBack and slot WR role than actual TE. He will be good.

This is what I would expect. I’m curious to see just how much they move him around though. I’ve always thought that flex/H-back position was one of the more complicated roles from the standpoint of knowing your reads, blocking assignments, motions, etc.

I would be surprised if they throw a true freshman out there and have him running around in different formations like CEH in 2019. If they do, they must think very highly of his football IQ. Which would be a very good sign for his future here.

Lol Arik had like 30 catches before the body aches and pains which lead to him quitting on his team. I think I will take Jack Bech coming in and contributing whatever and Not quitting on his team as a true freshman.

This is what I've wanted all along. I think this is the perfect spot for him as far as NFL potential goes.

Personally, I thought he needed to put on more weight (reported 225lbs)/size before he was ready. Excited to see him play though.
Evan Engram played at Ole Miss at the same size. He's a freshman, and he'll only get bigger. I don't want to see him more than about 235ish though.

Doesn't matter what he tested, dude was a freak on the field and it sucks we lost him even though he left us.

Taylor will be serviceable, but nothing more. Johnson looks like he could be really good in the future. Bech is going to be really good as long as we use him right.

Well I am hyped and would be regardless of his skin color

Yeah, I don't think so. One thing with Gilbert was that he was hindered by Finley and the OL. If he still had Brennan, or hell even Johnson, before he quit, he would have broken all the SEC freshman records for a TE and all of LSU's single season records for a TE. He was that damn good.

I think he could match his catches if he's on the field playing in the slot the vast majority of the season, but outside of that, no.

Put Gilbert in a real offense and we will see what he’s actually capable of doing. Georgia is a good spot for him, much better than whatever that offense was last year.

It would certainly help for Bech to put on weight. I think he will do so.

I noticed that Kole Taylor was up to about 250. Perhaps Bech will follow suit by the 2022 season.

I just pray they dont force the TE thing with Bech. We have Jake Johnson coming next year, so we are no so hard up for a TE that we need to ruin this kid's body packing on weight this year if his natural position is a +size chain moving WR. Time will tell.
