Bech is a football player. They couldn't guard him in HS or while he was at LSU. The muffed punts got in his head. He is still a good player. Wish he would have stuck it out here.

correct. Colorado has some legit players, including QB and Travis Henry and that was heck of a performance today, on the road.

But TCU isn’t good this year.

Bech shined in Coach O's 2021 offense, when LSU did not have a legitimate TE on the roster. LSU ran 1 back 4 WR sets or total spread with 5 WR. Bech lined up about 3 yards from the tackle and was matched up against LB's or strong safeties.

Those types of offenses as your base offense are for teams that don't have personnel to go toe to toe so you run a total spread to give yourself a chance to compete.

I never said he was not a good football player, he just can't start in LSU's offense under Coach Kelly which uses a true TE that can line up in-line and block and is used in the pass game. If you run 11 personnel, with 1 back and 1 TE, who does Bech play ahead of in your 3 WR set.

In my view, nobody. That is how I see it, you disagree fine, that is your right to do so.

In 2021, Bech played because he picked up the offense quickly and was very reliable catching the ball. Thomas had more talent, but wasn’t ready to contribute as a freshman.

If 2021 Bech had showed to start up last year with the same level of consistency, maybe he could have given Thomas a run for his money. As good as Thomas is, he was still hot and cold last year and had more than his share of drops. But that didn’t happen. Bech didn’t play particularly well when given the chance. The muffs just full-on put a nail in his career here.

Even if Bech had played better and held his own last year, I have a feeling Thomas is finally going to put it all together this season and be that guy we need next to Nabors. And I think there are a few other WRs on this year’s roster who would have passed Bech up, too. He made the right decision to move on.

Bech and Thomas do not even play the same position lol. Bech cannot win or separate on the outside. HE is pretty much relegated to playing in the slot

I never said he was a TE, I said he lined up about 3 yards off from the Tackle in 2020. I said LSU did not have a legitimate TE in 2020. That is why they were in 4 or 5 WR sets the entire time. You are misrepresenting what I said.

Whatever he is, he is no X WR in LSU's offense when you have a Legitimate TE on the field nor Y or Z.

When TCU had #19 the TE on the field, Bech was not on the field for TCU, you think he is better than LSU's top 3 WR. Fine. I don't.

I wish Bech was still at LSU. He’s a playmaker IMO

Joe didn’t beat out the guy so he transferred… sometimes you never make it, sometimes in joes case he had the right people taking time to make him a star!

I think Bech got in his own head with those muffed punts, affecting his play

I think Bech and the WR coach didn’t gel. Bech felt he was giving Boutte preferential treatment and didn’t earn the starting WR reps especially after dropping so many passes.

Put the ball in Bech's hands on that last play, and there's a good chance he makes Slusher miss, and gets the first down.
I'll take Bech on that play every time.

He had a key block on the TD run by the QB, a couple nice catches. Good overall game.

I can see your point of view. Thanks for a reasonable response without getting rude. I see Bech as an inside receiver and not a TE. I just think he is a guy that makes plays even though he may not grade out on size and speed stats.
