Just goes to show me that him and Walker didn’t want to be at LSU.

There's a reason most players transfer out, and that's cos they couldn't cut it at their former program. There are exceptions, sure (i.e. Joe Burrow), but we think Bech and Walker were better players than they actually are because they were likable Louisiana kids. We gave them the benefit of the doubt.

Bech has been in already for a few plays. TCU looks to be rotating WRs a bit.

Players transfer for 2 reasons: Couldn't become a starter, or recognize that they are too good for the school they are at presently. Bech just couldn't make his way into a starter role and looked elsewhere. I don't wish ill on the kid. He just wanted to play more, and that was more important to him than being a Fighting Tiger.

CU looks better than I thought, but TCU looks light-years worse than I ever imagined.

Forgot how bad their defense is. They will wear down CU though & still win big

Bech was a nice role player and played hard. Kept his nose clean.
IMO he should have stayed at LSU to be a role player and a fan favorite. He will just be a name on a jersey at TCU and probably won't play much more. CBK gave him some opportunities last year and he didn't execute, that's in him.

I think Bech got in his own head with those muffed punts, affecting his play

If he were at LSU we would still have posters complaining every time he wasn’t on the field, or worse - asking why he isn’t starting at TE.

That said, I admit I am a bit surprised at the turn his career has taken considering his performance as a true freshman.

Hankton thought Bech wasn't good. That's why Jack left.

Walker left because he knows he's not beating out Nuss in 24 and 25.

I tend to think you hit it on the head dead on.

He would be the 6th at best receiving option at LSU.

Nothing against Bech, but I agree. In this offense, which keeps a True TE on the field, he is not in the top 3 WR rotation. At 6-2 220 and 4.7, he is not quick enough and fast enough to be a top 3 WR in a 11 personnel set (which is most elite P5 teams base offensive set, i.e. you play with a true pass catching and run blocking TE). At that size, too small to be a TE. If he was 6-4 and 245 can at say 4.7, he would be a front line SEC type TE or at the size he is run in the 4.5 area, which he does not run.
