I’m 79, and that was also my first Tiger Stadium experience. That National Championship spoiled me. The Jerry Stovall teams added to it. Of course reality and maturity caused a reset of expectations, but there were many good times along the way. In 2019, I was so happy to take my two grandsons to the Vanderbilt game. (I live northeast of Nashville)

I’m so optimistic and excited about the current situation that I’m already making plans for many more good times ahead.

I really believe that we would all be shocked at the demographics here on the Rant if all was revealed ....

Soak every second in...every season opener , ever time you can hear the band play those 4 opening notes, every big play feeling in your gut, every triumph........it goes way too fast.

I'M 83. Back in the 60's, while in the Navy, I would listen to John Ferguson, broadcast the Tigers..on WWL, while I was standing watch. California to Virginia.
When on Submarine Patrol, no radio broadcasts, I subscribed to The Advocate. After a three Month Patrol, when I camet back to home base, Charleston, South Carolina, I would have a stack of News Papers to catch up with the Tigers.
I had shipmates who were fans from Washington Huskies, Nebraska Cornhuskers, to Penn State. Great times arguing football with Fans from all over.
That was the Stovall All America years. So it was fun debating. They cheated him out of the Hiesman Award, IMO.

Heck, I may see another Champion before I pass over the Great Divide.
Geaux Tigers!

I'm 64 and this thread has been awesome! I feel like a kid in here. I am so thankful for what all you LSU Baws, young and old have meant to me. I love to sass some of you but there's no better place to talk LSU and no better people than LSU fans.

I'm on the Lane Train! Geaux Tigahs!

I'm 70 and have followed the Tigers since 1964. I had season tickets for 14 years during the 2000s but gave them up when the traveling and traffic just became to much. The last couple of years, especially with NIL has left a sour taste in my mouth and I've really lost interest in college football in general.
However, the hiring of Kiffin has regenerated my interest and I am actually looking forward to next season and hoping the fire inside me is a flame thrower.

I’m 74! Really started to listen to as many games as were broadcast in 1967! Haven’t stopped since then!

Yep. I thought we were headed for the dark ages and honestly barely cared after this season.

These past few weeks have been insane. I was one who thought at the beginning of the season BK had us on a good trajectory and it really felt like the last straw for my Fandom that the team didn't just lose some games but was just not fun to watch even when we won. Outside of some defensive players the team looked uninspired and like they were getting chewed up by the grind like us fans.

Lane has me truly looking forward to next season and has brought some of that magic back for me that I thought may have been ground out of me for good by the new landscape if football.

Great summary. Will be the most memorable 7-5 offseason of our lives lol.

Love the old guard showing up here in this thread. LSU Nation is rejuvenated for its football team now and the future looks bright. Can’t wait to be back in TS next season

I am 76 and I grew up in Kaplan. Small town and everyone knows your business. y potential first game was the Ole Miss Halloween game in 1959. My dad was good friends with the town druggist. I ended up giving him my ticket BUT in return, I got to read comics whenever I wanted after school AND for one year, I got a free cup of ice cream with those flat wooden spoons to eat. After that, I went to games with my dad for 28 years until he passed so I have seen a lot. Due to surgeries, I use a walker to get around so going to games is impossible. The best coaches in my life have been Saban and now the prospect of Kiffin. Now I feel like I really want to make it to my 80's and see hopefully 2 more championships along with beating the crap out of the red evil empire, Ole Piss and Bama.
