Again with the transfer portal it will be more than 16 kids. College football is hugely influenced by QB. We have as good a QB room as any body.

Offensive line is far better than last year. DLine is already top shelf.

Burrow is an exception and regardless of how he got to BR we may never see another Burreaux again

Saban, Smart, and Miles have proven we don't need a Burrow to win a NC.
LSU, with a competent HC, can be in the hunt almost every year.

Michigan St started 8-0 in 2021 (11-2 overall) after Mel Tucker 1st season in 2020 where he finished 2-5.

Dude brought in a frick ton in the transfer portal last season.

What did we do this year? Brought in a frick ton of players via the portal.

we've had 1 coach who wasn't an incompetent arse dragon since then.
-----pray tell, which NC-winning coach since 2002 was an incompetent arse dragon? Would you rather we had "competent" coaches who didn't deliver an NC?

I'll take the NCs. So what if one ate grass and another was a "shrimp boat captain" and the 3rd lied about "not going anywhere"? The trophies balance that out.

Too many people here forget that it was a LONG time between 1958 and 2003.

The one who was just paid $16M to go away. Ed begged for the job with the promise he would hire great coordinators and stay out of the way. Outside of the Troy game, from 2017-2019 he stayed out of the way with respect to the on field approach (scheme, playcalling, etc.). In 2020 he implemented HIS defensive approach...which promptly turned LSU into one of the worst defensive teams in America. That was the first domino of the collapse from a program that went 15-0 with one of the most dominant seasons in CFB history to a .500 program the next two years. LSU was second only to Georgia in the amount of players drafted in the 21 and 22 drafts. There was talent on the roster. So why such a sudden collapse? Because the incompetent arse dragon decided he was going to show the world just how great a football mind he had....and he did!

Orgeron was at his best the LESS he was involved. In fact, his entire campaign pitch to get the job in the first place was based upon him being minimally involved.

How about we just let the season play out like it will and be excited about a new regime at LSU? Or is that not allowed?

Appreciate your opinion, but I disagree. With the transfer portal, it’s a new game. Regarding the high school recruitment, BK has yet to coach a single LSU game and look where we are. This process will take less then than your prediction.

This isn't the 70s. The transfer portal changed everything

I guess other teams don’t know about it since it’s going to benefit us so greatly.

The transfer portal has totally changed this narrative.

No it hasn't. Unless you're getting 5* transfers who were elite starters elsewhere. And there's only a handful of those per season.

Not all transfers are the same. And none of our transfers were highly decorated on their former teams other than JB-C and the freshman AA olineman.

So getting 13 gap-filling transfers has not at replaced the need to recruit blue chip from high school and letting them develop over the next 3 years. The former will help avoid a disastrous season; the latter is needed to win championships.
