It's pretty simple, Kelly has to fire the DC

Or that's his job. Will he be stubborn? I guess the cfb landscape will find out. The issue is so major. What looked like an easy year in the west has now turned in to a nightmare. Alabama has improved and is getting better while LSU is getting worse (specifically the defense). The pressure on the offense is so enormous.

I mean he’s made changes when needed throughout his entire career I don’t know why he would stop now

Does he really make that much? That’s insane.

Haven’t we learned the costly lessons of firing major coaches mid season? We haven’t recovered yet from the recruiting fiasco created by firing O mid season. Not that he didn’t need to be fired. But don’t quit a job without another lined up and don’t fire coaches with influence unless the timing benefits the program. Firing anyone mid season will hurt the program. We need some adjustments maybe. Someone else coaching D-line and maybe DBs as well. But no more than that right now.

Him and Golding. The defensive coordinator at Ole Miss.

…and hire who?

You’re not firing him mid season. This isn’t the NFL. We are riding this train until year end.

Yes House needs to go but man the player personnel is awful.

Not sure LSU can afford to fire him with the buyout.

House has gone from our most important coach outside of Kelly, to one that suddenly finds himself unable to solve some fundamental flaws. How does that even happen?
I get it if it’s because he’s so busy trying to land a head coaching position he’s lost focus on his area of expertise. But I think it’s something else.

Can they afford to be a bottom 3rd SEC defense moving forward? It’s an embarrassment and guys aren’t going to come here and let this guy ruin their prospects.

DC isn’t the one making the tackles, not the issue

He was awful last year as well. Gave up 30ppg to P5 opponents taking into account Purdues scout team and Arkys 3rd string QB. This season he’s giving up 36.5ppg vs P5 teams with 3 of the 4 opponents being guys he faced last season. Those 3 coaches have scored an average of 25.7ppg more than they did against House last year. So he’s gone from bad to much worse especially vs guys who’ve coached against him before. This all points to a downward trend that’s dropping off of a cliff.

Everyone complaining about a lack of talent should consider this-
Lesser teams with lesser talent play better teams all the time without surrendering 40+ points, much less 50+.
More talent would help but its NOT the root of the problem.

1. Can’t fire him mid-season.
2. Don’t NEED to fire him mid-season.
3. House may well be distracted with a job search now — we won’t know for weeks/months
4. We just need some easy improvements to the D we have right now to have a credible product in the field. Do THAT and do it NOW.

Bama or A&M will lose a conference game next week. We can STILL beat both of ‘em.

Our offense has improved ALOT in the last 3 games. Our D improves marginally, we can beat anybody.

And House knows he’s on the hot seat now.

Too many fundamental and structural issues with House. I don’t think it’ll happen of course but firing him right now wouldn’t hurt anything. He’s not going to fix it, he can’t.

Most power 5 coordinators are making a butt load of money, weather they deserve it or not

I really reallly thought we’d see a few minor improvements to the D for OM game — and we didn’t.

Josh Pate was right. You might be right.

But …. House has a lot on the line here. He can’t move up and out from here if he presides over implosion of a defensive power house in the SEC.

He’s GOT to be very motivated to show some progress on the way out the door, right?

I know I would be.
