That got Miles canned, not the losses to Alabama. If I had 15min with Coach O, I would highly advise him to remove the focus from the Bama game as the “must win” and instead start with you “must win every other game!!!!”

Do that first then get the credibility to attract the great players needed to beat the Tide.

Change your focus LSU coaching staff! If you can go 11-1 next year, it’s a great year.

After that, adjust focus to dominant football good enough to beat Bama.

To try and focus on Bama now is premature and fools gold!!!

The focus on the Alabama game has nothing to do with losing to Texas A&M.

I dont Think A&M should change your mind on this staff in anyway.

In regulation I think We did enough to wind

I think We won it in the first OT.

I think The PI in the 2 point conversion was BS.

We’re we very conservative in OT yes, but so we’re they.

If I had 15 min with Coach O I’d show him the stats of our offense last year and this year and would tell him to hire the best fricking offensive coordinator out there.

Like he promised.

I've been saying this for years. Think about it this way, if LSU wins every other game on their schedule except the Alabama game, wouldn't LSU go to the college football playoff every single year with the schedule they play? The obvious answer is yes.

Some more food for thought for those that think Bama is the mountain that needs to be climbed. When was the last time Alabama was the only loss in LSU schedule?

Bottom line is, based on LSU's recruiting, Alabama should be the only loss every year but due to horrible scheme and coaching on the offensive side of the ball, it never is. Often there's three or four more that accompany it.

We need to score points and keep the other teams from scoring points.

Wrong. He was canned because he started to get blown out by Arkansas and Ole Miss. It's interesting how the narrative has changed on the end of the Miles era.

I think our record with Miles would likely be the same with different outcomes in games.

I think with Miles we probably still beat Georgia and we find a way to beat Florida and A&M.

We drop Bama and probably Auburn and Arkansas with Miles.

I loved Miles but felt it was his time to go like most but that was under the assumption we would go out and get a home run hire.

I don't think in this day and age, there's a sure thing for this. But, damn, it would be nice to know we at least tried.

The cold hard truth is this LSU team isn't any better than Miles' last few.

Difference is simply Auburn, Arkansas, and Ole Miss are considerably worse than what they were.

FFS, of our 6 SEC wins last year only Gus made it the full year as HC, and now he's feeling the heat. The 9-3 regular seasons are fool's gold with so many teams in transition.

Objectively, these losses are WORSE than Miles' losses to teams like Arky and Ole Miss.

Consider- Miles would lose a disappointing game to Arkansas, we'd drop in the rankings and be embarrassed, but that'd only have an in-season effect. Nobody ranked Arkansas ahaed of LSU the following season; LSU was still expected to be the better program.
When Miles would lose to, say, Auburn (a legit challenger in the longterm standings), he'd follow it with several years of wins to reestablish superiority.

A&M with Jimbo is trying to move up the ladder. There's every reason to think next year's team will be better, and this win might slide LSU beneath them. Same with Florida. Those are must-win games next year for us.

the NC game showed everyone his arrogance and stubbornness.
He SURRENDERED to Alabama by not trying all of the weapons at his disposal. Then, the next year he did not do as he said he would w the offense.

That's also what others saw and it took Kansas to finally hire him....where the expectations are not SEC level

“ Arkansas and Old Miss”

Those two teams combined for 18 wins in 2015 Lets not pretend they are anywhere close to the programs they were in 2015.

Miles was fired cause he had 10 L’s in his last 2 yrs and 4 games, we hadn’t won the west since 2011, and cause his O was felt to be lacking.

Now, we still have loses we shouldn’t, we aren’t any closer to winning the west, and our O is even worse.

I think The refs gave them the game.

I think Factors out of our control are why we lost.

We made the plays we needed to make, but the refs called the game in their favorAggies to an extreme.

And I am Not saying our coaching has been great. I think This game was a lot like our other games. Bad offense. Overly conservative coaching. Etc... but I dont Think the refs were going to let us win this game.

I've been saying this for awhile now. The way it always comes down to the wire, you can lose to Bama every year and still, very likely, make the playoffs if you are always 11-1. You also save yourself the wear of an extra game in the SEC championship.
