Roy Alston, executive director of Texas-based Five Points Community Capital, has been tapped as the project’s master developer. Subdevelopers will eventually be contracted to work on the individual components of the project.
A master developer who has zero experience in hospitality or stadiums? Looks like Five Points has never done anything close to this type of project. Website mentions nothing on previous projects of the sorts. The founder Roy does have Nola ties…classic
Are we serious right now? UT used Oak View Group a leader in hospitality and venues.
Good lord I hate these decision makers. Thought Woodward was better than this. Classic Louisiana.

Is it Jeff Landry's WLF Girl friends company?

So people drinking in bars around the arena will have to pay an extra penny on the dollar. Who fricking cares.
I’m willing to pay an additional $0.05 just to keep those complaining of having to pay $0.01 away!

Interestingly, some of their website images show "exposed pipes"—perhaps a unique qualification that speaks to their hands-on experience and practical expertise.

The cronyism in this state is so disgusting and embarrassing. The stadium will be dog shite. Developers first shot at a stadium is crazy

What will the PMAC become after this is complete? Could LSU use it as a dedicated assembly hall type building? Gymnastics and volleyball?
Sounds like the PMAC Will remain and house volleyball and gymnastics. I don't totally get it. Not sure why you'd build this grand facility and not maximize its usage. Plus LSU is now going to have 3 basketball arenas on campus which seems like a gargantuan waste of valuable land to me.

Easy cost of 500-650 million when all is said and done.
The longer you wait the worse it gets. Rip off the band aid. LSU is going to get a lot of use out of it.

Are you serious right now? Did you even read the article? Because you look like a damn fool rambling about some inaccurate bullshite
LINK
The article provides an update on 3 projects, 1) the new LSU arena, 2) a repurposed river center, 3) Memorial Park redevelopment.
The article notes that Roy Alston was chosen as the master developer for the Memorial Park project.. not the LSU project.
It also clearly states that Landry [TAF] declined to disclose the name of the developer selected.
quote:
A pool of six potential developers has now been narrowed down to a single finalist. The Tiger Athletic Foundation is currently in the process of evaluating a proposal from that finalist. Landry declined to disclose the name of the developer in question.
With that said, expect something similar to this.

Surely it's some out-of-state contractor who won a fair, non-political, bidding process.
The developer will either be Oak View or ASM Global which are both great options.
But you people will continue to bitch either way.

I wasn't saying the arena wont make money just that golf course never did and has been a money pit.

I think the plan advertised is a great plan and I hope they stick to it, but I don’t want my local tax dollars paying for it,
It was supposed to be a private development.
