But I will always want LSU to have a I formation package. Sometimes you just have to lineup and hammer someone.
Works against Jacksonville State from the State of Alabama, but not so much against the other team from the State of Alabama that also wears Red................

I wonder what this does for JD Moore?

Not sure how good Moore's hands are but it seems like he caught a few passes. Mouton was used as a tight end often at Acadiana. He had very good hands then, though Acadiana has never been a pass happy team, so it's not like they threw the ball all that much. But imagine a 6'1" 265 lb guy catching a swing pass. That's a safeties nightmare, better hope a LB is trying to cover him.

true, after the Les era and 3 years of #7 off tackle, I think these boys have the I formation committed to memory

Don't forget about the short toss ??

With fournette here I agree but it seemed like the fb got it the way of guice

That may have been true earlier in the season but as it wore on and LF7 was injured you could tell LF7 was working with him and teaching him to be more patient behind his blockers. It was obvious this improved.

JD Moore will play FB in the I formation. He excels there and with Guice running behind them, that can be 8 ypc.

Not against Alabama.

That's just not true. I think most people understand you can use that in short yardage situations and still get that first down or that TD on the goal line.

Any way, people tend to harp on that. When in reality LSU didn't run that formation as much as people think.

LSU could play in the "I" with their "Eye" closed. But we need to switch up the offense so it wrecks havoc on any team. Plus some teams play against the I well and We can use that to our advantage by bring different schemes. I think is a great thing...

The other team's defense not knowing what we are going to do? Look out! 15-0!

Coach O says, "LSU doesn't have a fullback in the I. That's why they're practicing with the TEs. It's an H-back role." A real change maybe not in philosophy, but a true multiple offense that's undpredictable. Also Voorhies officially an OLB Divinity will be OLB And Ed Paris is now permanently at Safety. Looks more natural and comfortable.

Sometimes it's the obvious changes that make or break your team. Glad O has his head on straight!
