How does that work? Sark would have retained him but wanted him man instead?

No. Sark wanted him to stay. Coach O was pissed by all accounts that he wasn't considered for the HC job so he left USC.

Chief is a class guy and felt disrespected in the contract process because he saw Alleva matching Miles offers from other U's but for some reason they decided to keep Chief at 1.3mm. Chief was right to feel that way

Chief wanted a $400K raise after the year we had? And last? frick that, I'm with the Administration on this one.

Thanks for the time served but, good riddance Chief.

If we can't get CP, then it needs to be BeBe! Both would be ideal, but I want at least one of them.

Dunbar has never been a dc iirc. I'd bring him in as a defensive line coach, but I'm sure he'd rather stay in the NFL.

No but he's been a HC so obviously he couldn't do it.

Plus he has never been a defensive coach ever not even with the saints!!!!

They have to hire him to save recruiting....DC won't matter if we keep losing kids...here is your numbers...At this time last year we were 4th in recruiting with our commits and now we're 20th...

The responses in this thread are eerily similar to the responses of Kiffin being hired at Alabama.

I do think Orgeron is the biggest risk/reward guy of all the possible names that were brought up.

Not even close. Kiffin has always been respected as a QB/play caller. He is just a douche. O has never ran a D. Good luck if true.

People said Kiffin never ran an O by himself and never developed a QB at this time last year.

I don't think this is a hire that should excite anyone if it happens. It's not a terrible hire but it's very high risk because we don't know how he can do as a DC. He's a good recruiter but can he coach a defensive scheme? I don't think LSU is in a position to take a risk on someone like this. Someone like Clancy is a much safer bet but the question is he even interested in us?

LSU might not have any other options but to settle for a risk like this.
