Do you know why?
Brady isn't doing too badly in Buffalo now is he?

LSU passed on 50.17% of plays this year. TCU passed on 45.66%. LSU was 27th in the nation in pace (only behind Ole Miss and Arkansas in SEC). TCU was 61st. So LSU was faster and more pass happy than TCU (assuming the data I am looking at is correct).
The takes some people here come up with are fricking insane. Our biggest issue this season was that we couldn’t run the ball consistently, especially early in games, other than running Daniels, and that didn’t even work in every game. That was mostly due to our OL early in the season, and then it fell off again late thanks to injuries to the backs.
We know this should improve with young guys on the OL getting more experience and hopefully having a more physical Center take that starting job. If that happens, it takes the burden to carry the offense off of the QB.
For all of you idiots arguing back and forth over who should be the QB, a better run game is what you should ALL want. Both Daniels and Nuss are flawed, incomplete QBs and they BOTH need more help. Neither of them is on the same planet at Stroud and they don’t play with the consistency that Bennett does. If you guys can’t see that, then you don’t know football.

Leach and Briles
Mumme and Briles were both famous in Texas HS football (Mumme was a little older I think). But if you want to dig deep, when Mumme was at UK, it was Dykes as TE coach and Leach as OC. Leach worked for Mumme. Dykes also had influence from his dad and others along the way. Dykes doesn’t run the tempo as much as some of the others did tho. He has a closer offense to /019 LSU because he is so good at developing receivers and TEs. The QB has to be serviceable and capable of making quick decisions.
He will also run the ball on you hard and does not run a tempo like Briles.

You do know that Brady isn’t the OC at Buffalo right? He is the QB coach. Ken Dorsey is the OC.

That Matt Rhule/Joe Brady marriage didn't age well at all.
If they had Burrow, Jefferson, Chase, and Moss, along with Marshall, it probably would have been more impressive.
Ron Turcotte, without Secretariat, would have never been remembered.

The OP is a shithead who thinks he’s being “subtle.”
I’d love to see a good admin purging on this board. Not that there’s anything wrong with knowledgeable criticism but the way Jayden Daniels has some of these shitheads so butthurt, they could use a head start on rooting for another team.

The fact that someone is this stupid, but still possesses the cognitive ability to both log in, AND post on this site is one of the most amazing things I see here on a daily basis.

Mumme and Leach were both pure air raid guys
Briles is veer and shoot - somewhat of a spin off of air raid
The Riley’s are also a product of both these trees
Dykes’ offense incorporates parts of both offenses

Michigan got back in the game with Mcarthy running.
Because he isn’t a good passer, he had to do this.

quote:here comes the Dumbo takes. Duggan completed less than 50% of his passes for 225 yards and 2 TDs with 2 ints. You know what won them the game offensively, running the damn ball. They ran for 262 yards and 3 TDs. Michigan has won this year based on playing sound defense and RUNNING THE BALL. Michigan's OL couldn't block and it took MccArthy making plays on the run to keep them in the game late. After getting 90 yards on 14 carries, the RB mustered just 30 yards on the next 9. Regular season Michigan would have ran him 30+ times for 200 yards because he was sure to break another long run. Michigan having to rely on Mccarthy's arm is why they lost. Two pick sixes, but that 350 passing sure does look purty doesn't it
Amazing. Wish LSU had the capacity to do what TCU can do, but Kelly is the coach and prefers a tuck-and-run over a slant downfield and Kelly is right about everything since he's the coach.
I guess Kelly prefers slower-paced more smashmouth big 10 style football and more run-oriented QBs. Would be fun to watch a passing game with the hordes of Louisiana WR talent instead of one-man show taking it upon himself to make every play.
Want to talk Ohio St/UGA? Yeah that game had a lot of passing and Stroud showed up along with the rest of the receivers. The problem is when they were up by 14 points late, the DEFENSE AND RUN GAME FAILED THEM! They weren't able to milk any clock and UGA just kept coming back outscoring them 18-3 in the fourth quarter. And let's not act like Bennett isn't a 25 year old QB playing with the Harlem globetrotters on offense.
LSU's offense can and will be very balanced next year because the system is going to be perfected and the players have experience in it. I want the Jalen Hurts Eagles type of offense that can destroy you in any way you want. I want to be able to throw for 350 and run for 150. I want to be able to throw for 200 and run for 300. I want to be able to throw for 250 and run for 250. I want my QB to be dynamic.
I love these receivers, but I don't see Justin Jefferson or Jamarr Chase in them. Daniels isn't Burrow, and no, Nuss isn't either. That offense worked insanely well because we had several future NFL HOFs playing in it.

Denbrock is a major worry being that he is a Dino

You realize that UGA runs a very similar offense with a lot of 2 TE sets and balance, right? They just have better players around an above average QB who is smart and usually makes good decisions. It’s amazing what having a great OL will do, which we don’t have yet. But you absolutely can see it taking shape in recruiting.
Michigan is FAR more run-heavy than we are. There is NOTHING modern about their offense. TCU wins with balance even though Dykes would probably prefer to throw it more if he could. But Duggan, while a gamer with a knack for clutch plays, is also limited and makes mistakes, as we saw yesterday. He was downright terrible in the first half.
Are you calling 2 of the 4 playoff teams’ OCs “dinos” along with Denbrock? Are you really going to say it’s a fluke that they got there and that a balanced attack can't succeed at the highest level with the right personnel? You’ve already lost last year’s excuse that UGA’s defense carried them to the title. This year, the offense has bailed them out more than once, including yesterday.

We can give Coach O credit for all that and also give him grief for taking the next 2 years off

Duggan is special
Duggan has made a lot of clutch plays this season, but he’s not amazing. There’s a reason he lost the QB battle going into the season.
In fact, he was absolutely horrible outside of two plays in the first half yesterday. They got their lead going into half because of their defense and Michigan’s dumb mistakes bailing him out. It was their run game that really won it for them.

Agreed. The 2 pick 6s did not hurt either. TCU did a good job offensively of taking advantage of Michigan's over-aggressiveness in passing situations in the second half of the game.
Duggan passed for less than 90 yards in the first half and only 135 in the second half of which 76 came on one play with over 50 of same was YAC on a play Michigan ran cover zero behind a blitz (over-aggressive) and the CB whiffed on the tackle.

Yall remember the "Derek Brigade?" (Strange little clique of DP friends and LSUAD student employees that "Down Voted" in mass anything negative about Orgeron)
Well, I now see that happening on here in regards to JD5.
There appears to be a collective of Jayden Idolizers/Worshippers that are down voting in mass anything that is remotely negative in nature. (Even if the opinion stated is factual in basis)
I'm so glad that the normal adult LSU fan base out there in the real world, bears no resemblance at all to the HS and College kids that appear to be the majority on the Rant.
This fact, makes it a difficult and frustrating experience trying to discuss LSU Football/Sports......
