If ANY other team had Alabama’s resume, they would be a playoff afterthought at this point.
They embarrassed themselves in the championship last year, and now we are going to reward them for almost being good enough to make it to the SECCG?
3rd place in the SEC should not make the playoff.

If Minnesota gets to the championship game against Ohio st and loses a close one they should be the one to get a rematch and not Bama. Way better schedule
Some scenarios where they don't:
An LSU SEC-CG loss to a 1-loss UGA would lock out Bama,
A 1 loss OSU trumps Bama, if PSU wins out, it would put PSU and OSU in.
IMO if Oregon wins out, including their championship game, they'll get in ahead of Bama too.

The whole point of Playoff team #1 playing team#4 is to give #1 seed an easier path to the final game than #2 or #3 get. But if LSU is #1 and has to play Alabama #4 then that’s making us play against a team with an obvious psychological advantage after we already beat them at their stadium. Not fair.

Well they have a psychological advantage over this fanbase, that's for sure.
I have confidence that the team could handle its business if they have to. I don't know what people think changes if we were to rematch.

How about we play Ole Miss next Saturday first? Did you watch the Saints game today?

Do you think bama is one of the best 4 teams in football?
How could anyone know since Bama’s schedule is so weak? If they had played at least a few ranked teams, we might be able to make a better assessment. As it stands, they played one ranked team, it was at home, and they loss.

Agree but that farce has happened twice since 2011 with AL

Well minnesota beat penn st and bama lost to LSU.

Alabama's schedule reminds me of like a Boise or UCF, but possibly worse.. and now they have a loss at home.
They have no good win to fall back on this year.
It's absolutely HORRIBLE.
They will not earn a spot this year. They have no business getting in over any other undefeated or one loss team.

In my opinion, the current CFP system is a farce. It's a popularity contest and nothing more. When they removed the computer rankings that looked at hard statistics and replaced it with a panel of people who, as humans tend to be, can be biased in favor of or against certain teams, they took away the ability to be objective and impartial. If a certain team can, not once, not twice, but three times fail to win their division, much less their conference championship, and still be selected over others that did these things, then that team will always have a built in advantage.
Bama has entitlement issues, in part because the media always white knights for them, they always have an excuse for losing, and nobody has been willing to step up and say, you know what, that's enough. You don't always get to win, and you can't have the rules and the narrative rewritten every time they don't suit you. You had your chance. You didn't win. You're out.

which is why they will rewrite the rule book if need be to guaranty bama the #4 spot unless they lose to auburn
the playoffs will always be rigged to favor them

Great points. Cannot win their division let alone league championship and go to the playoffs - total bull---.

Then every team in college football not located in Tuscaloosa, AL needs to lobby the NCAA for a new system. They shouldn't get rewarded for intentionally avoiding tough teams on their schedule.

System is a farce and it will happen again this season.
Only other possibility is GA and LSU win out and GA barely beats LSU on a last second FG, with both getting in the playoffs.

Yeah and the OOC schedule for Bama is better than Minnesota.
Well, regardless, Minnesota beat their top 4 opponent.

Right now, the playoffs look they will be conference champs from SEC, Big10, Big12, and ACC. Not sure how anyone else gets ahead of one of those unless the wheels just come way off for one of those conference champs.
1-loss Oklahoma or undefeated Baylor gets in from the Big12.
Undefeated Clemson gets in from ACC.
Undefeated OSU or Minn gets in from the Big10
Undefeated LSU or 1-loss Georgia gets in from the SEC.
Something screwy would have to go down for any of those to miss out. Everyone else is pretty much done unless some 2007-level college football breaks out over the next few weeks.

I'm sorry, but it infuriates me that so many people seem to be ok with this happening. I don't want this. I want us to blow the doors off of UGA in Atlanta and win the SEC. We shouldn't have to lose to keep fricking Bama from backdooring their way into the playoffs for a THIRD time. There are several other scenarios that will keep Bama out, but in reality, it shouldn't matter. Their schedule is garbage, they have no quality wins, and they lost to the only ranked team they played, at their house. They should be out.

The two times the CFP committee put in a non conference champion, Bama in 2017 and Ohio State in 2016, both were 11-1 teams competing for a spot against 2 loss conference champions.
As long as there are 4 conference champs at 12-1 or better, Bama loses that comparison. The committee has to consider the championship as a plus, as well as the 13th data point, the 12-1 extra win from the CG.
The only way Bama gets in is if chaos happens and the Big 12, Pac-12, and/or ACC champ lose more than 1.
The closes analogy I can think is Ohio State 2015, they lost to the only highly rated team they played by 3, and even though they looked like a strong team (defending champ,) their resume wasn't good enough to put them in.

All good points. If Ohio State didn't get in back in 15, this Bama team won't either. As long as the big 12 or PAC 12 has a 1 loss champion or better, they will get in. Hopefully Auburn knocks them out completely.
