They were all unveiled at the same time (toonces swirl w/ paws, toonces head by its self, toonces head + LSU) and for whatever reason they originally chose the toonces + paws + swirl model to be the most visible logo. Now it appears the one above shows up more often on TV graphics and such.

I should have said I like it more than the other current choices. It could be worse.
I like your idea of having more of the tiger eye on apparel and merchandise, but I think the official logo needs to have LSU on it somewhere.

anyone else think that the actual snl toonces posted in this thread actually looks more vicious than the LSU toonces logo?
why the hell would we want to keep toonces's head as a logo when we already have a head logo of an actual mike ?
is loosing his head sort of like the cheshire cat and soon we will just have teeth as a logo?
toonces was a bad idea all the way around and should just go away.

horrible logo, looks like a purple hurricane icon behind the tiger. How they agreed this would be the logo baffles me. I stopped buying alot of LSU gear because for a while most of it was toonces.

The logo with the LSU and Tigers written in script was our best logo. It wouldn't look good on hats, but it looks decent on everything else.
Anybody out there skilled enough with Photoshop to update the LSU to the Geaux font, and put the same Tigers script in front of it?

My friend, who used to run track at LSU told me in January they were going to phase it out for the eye. That is why your seeing the eye on on the players gear like warm-ups ect. Personally I miss the old LSU with Tigers in script. I could only find this one... sorry about toonces in the background.

They should have had a challenge to the high school students of Louisiana to come up with a design.
The top ten designs are chosen by a panel then those ten are put up for a vote by tiger fans.
The top vote getter is the official logo, the next two are acceptable alternates.
The designers of the winning logos get free tuition to LSU art school or something.

TOONCES STUFF DOES NOT SELL.
Our clothing manager orders very little cloths with the new logo on it anymore because it just doesnt sell as well as the older stuff.
The big complete full logo was a complete disaster, so they switched it to just its head with "LSU" underneath it...but that still isnt selling well.
The tiger eye is becoming the new LSU logo on nearly all of Nikes LSU merchandise.

I like the snarling, ears down, means business old tiger like the one on the football helmets. No "pussyfooting" there. Let other schools go PC with changing team names or mascots for fear of crossing the OOOI (Officially Outraged and Offensed Industry).

God that would be welcomed news. It is the least appealing of all the seemingly thousands of LSU logos over the years, and the most juvenile in the country other than the stinkin limp cayenne pepper down interstate-10 to the west
