Is this stat true for the Big 3 men's LSU sports? Worst since 1965?

I keep seeing this stat pop up on social media posts...

"In football, mens basketball, and baseball, LSU went a combined 1-20 against SEC opponents who had a winning record in conference play.

LSU was 15-41 in SEC play over across the three major sports, their worst conference record since 1965."

So I looked up SEC records:
3-5 - Football
3-15 - Basketball
9-21 - Baseball

15-41 overall

Do you follow LSU sports? Confused how are you just now learning how bad this season was or what our record was.

I wonder why they stop at worse since 1965 though. I was under the impression this may be the worst academic season ever.

1965 football 3-3
1965-66 basketball 2-14
1966 baseball 4-12

They weren’t talking about the 1964-65 season either because our record was better in that academic year than ‘65-66

ETA guess if you go by win % then that year was worse
1965-66: 9-29 (.237 winning %)
2025-26: 15-41 (.268 winning %)

We are all mourning our baseball season being over today.

The good news is Coach O is back “don’t fret couyon, we comin again Bebe”!

So I’ll guess ride with him and Lane now, and keep my head up thinking about football this fall, and try to forget whatever LSU baseball I saw this season.

Borderline shocking that LSU football was only 3-3 SEC in 1965, as that was the year of one of the greatest games in LSU history, the Cotton Bowl win over defending national champion and undefeated (in 1965) Arkansas. But it's true-- LSU lost 3 games in 1965: @ Florida 7-14, @ Ole Miss 0-23, v. Alabama 7-31.

Say it isn't so, Joe. That's more than enough information, to sicken even the LEAST squeamish.

It sucked but the reason it isn’t worth getting antsy over is because we’re gonna be pretty good at all three sports next season

I think the good news is that 15 + life experienced years have passed since their time together at Tennessee and USC, so I believe they both understand what is needed to win Championships and what’s expected at LSU.

Greatest place in College Football when we are on Top and most would agree.

Glad to have them both.

That should've become a talking point in favor of retaining CMM
