Its the font the LSU is in, in the endzones i believe

All things being equal, I always liked the 80's versions of the endzones... And yes I know, we've never had the circle tiger at midfield.

You mean like the ones above, or are you referencing something else?

Agreed, but I do think it looks better with the white border around the field like they use now.

I miss the sideline color like in the pic above... We haven't had that since '02 I believe and we need to bring it back IMO

I'm curious where you're getting this...'cause it sure looks trademarked here.

It doesn't necessarily mean that LSU holds the trademark. Just sayin'....

FWIW:

A trademark is either "registered" with the USPTO ( ® )and is "officially" recognized as a trademark, or it is an unregistered mark that is used in commerce and usually denoted with ( TM )

The question is not that it's registered, but registered to whom? Can anyone confirm that LSU owns the logo?

Is there any difference in terms of liscencing, the ability of the organization which is benefitting from using the mark in commerce, etc in having one over the other?

It could also be this. That's the reason Miss. St. no longer uses the interlocking MSU on their helmets. Their old uniform maker owns the logo.

Thanks. I wasn't sure, thought you meant the green helmet with the "T" meant Tigers with a wave cresting on top.

no, it only affects enforcement.

Usually, organizations register before/when they sue an infringer because more remedies are available if it's registered.

Otherwise, it really doesn't matter if they register it or not

Kind of what I assumed. LSU came at me HARD when I was selling some shirts and I was VERY careful to not use anything I knew or assumed to be an LSU mark. My trouble came in when wanted to call the shirts GeauxTiger Graphics or something. They jumped my arse for using GeauxTiger because they USE Geaux Tigers but don;t technically have it copyrighted in the sense that you mentioned. they went so far as to suggest any use of a Tiger in conjunction with the colors purple and/or gold would cause them to pursue it.

Thanks for the info, btw.

You have a source for that? I'm not sure I buy that.

Don't believe me? Ask any State fan on the SEC Rant right now. They're still bitter about it.

Heck I'll do it and link back.

If he's right, then they are incredibly stupid for allowing that to happen.
