You have no idea what Brennan is about to do. There is a very good reason why Canada played Brennan as much as he did in his true freshman year. Canada saw the talent and the potential Brennan showed. I’m not saying it was not the best thing for Brennan’s development and ultimately for the team but you have to admit a lot of the riff between Canada and Orgeron had something to do with him wanting Brennan to start over Etling.
Brennan is now in his style offense, his element and his comfort zone. The last time that happened he threw for over 5000 yards and 50 TD passes to 2 ints in one season.

In the next 3 years, I fully expect Kyle Wickersham and Walker Howard to be on board as signees.

Wickersham as a HS Sophomore makes Brennan look like a HS freshman today.

Yes. Eaux did a great job evaluating and developing Burrow. This has allowed Brennan time to develop too

Lack of development or over hyped?

Lot more to playing qb in the sec than being able to run fast and throw hard.

He tore a labrum in a hip and was out for the better part of a year and dropped behind an incumbent at Jesuit. He was top performer at a QB camp earlier this year.

He transferred to Rummel in the spring and I expect very good things from him over the next 2 years.

His dad was a big, strong-armed QB back in the mid 80s and played a little pro ball.

6’3” 220 entering his Junior year.

The QB is important, but the system you put him is just as important... even more so, IMO.

You could put the world's best NASCAR driver in a stock Hyundai, and he will NOT win any races.

We'll have to see it on the field, of course, but I believe O & E have made the right moves to put LSU's QBs in a superior passing system.

Burrow will kill it in this system, and future QBs and WRs will be lining up to play in this system. TITTB

He did a great job of getting him on campus.

Dude is the best QB we’ve had since Matt Flynn.

Eaux recruited him after evaluating him and deciding he could help us.

He put him in a system and his staff coached him up.

I'd say lack of development and poor fit. I don't think anyone outside the positigers have hyped up an LSU QB in a long time.

And this is exactly how Miles and Cameron literally ruined Brandon Harris. Miles did not want his QB's running the ball, even when pass plays broke down (receivers not open, rush gets to the QB) and running was something Harris was very good at. If LSU had ran a RPO offense like Urban did Harris would have been much more comfortable and effective. I still have the image of that poor kid sitting dejected, depressed and mentally despondent on the sidelines at Wisconsin. I had never seen a QB look like that. Cameron sitting there trying to talk to him and you could see in his body language nothing was getting through. So yea, having the right offense that suits a QB's attributes is just as important as the QB's skill level. A poor fit can ruin a gifted QB.

I'll never understand it. Les kept asking kids to do what they just couldn't do. Why couldn't they recruit kids that fit their system?

Miles never committed to, and installed, a functioning passing game system.

Miles (like a lot of old school HCs) was a ground-and-pound guy. Passing was an afterthought in those systems.

I think it was ego. He seemed to think he could take any talented player and make him fit into what Miles wanted to do.

Etling was a barely average QB. They would not let him throw over the middle. Had Etling been the QB last year we lose a couple more games.

LSU finally has a QB pipeline set up. Brennan and Parrish followed by Johnson and Finley. LSU has not had a QB pipeline set up like this since 2004 with Flynn and Jamarcus.

The team is actually trying to evolve into a more modern offense just as Saban did 5 or 6 years ago. The LSU line of scrimmage talent deficit and lack of a QB until Burrow had slowed that development.

Burrows example and Brady plus Ensminger will develop Brennan further.

We signed and had commitments and built depth behind mett too. We kind of said the same shite then.

Rt now, I have no idea how it will go after burrow. E is the OC. He helped evaluate and recruit the previous guys everyone shits on.

Randal, Rivers, Retig, Jennings, Harris. And even after with Etling, Brennan, narcisse, and Scott.

People at times were high on all of those guys.

The problem is that when Harris came in all of the other QB's were chased off and we were left with nobody but Jennings and Harris for 2 years. If Etling 's family wasn't friends with Cam we would have had Harris for 2 more with no one else ready to go behind him.
