Is the Advocate trustworthy?

This came to mind when reading article on new commit TE. There are mixed ratings between 3 and 4 stars on the kid and they choose to state 3. No big deal but why state the lower if you aren’t trying to be a little negative.

I believe most news sites not affiliated directly with any recruiting websites use the 247 composite or what the majority of outlets have the player ranked. In this case, both the composite and the majority of outlets have him ranked as a 3 star. Only Rivals has him ranked as a 4 star if I’m not mistaken.

Stars are not earned or "awarded". They are a conversation piece reflecting the opinion of someone who is not making a living in coaching. There have been numerous articles and at least a few websites that track the number of 4 and 5 stars that never see the field.

I think they go by composite. I’m not sure 100% but If his composite is 3* then I’d bet that’s it. Who cares a legit 6-7 who runs a 4.6 shuttle verified. Not sure 40 time but who cares with a 6-7 TE. Shuttle imo more important for his position. Around 30 p5 offers from all over. Good hands. Smart kid. Great pickup and should fit perfectly n the offense

I think it is because he is a composite 3 star when you figure up all of the different sites that rate players. From what I have read he is a high 3 and probably will be a 4 the next time they calculate the ratings. All of that being said it doesn't matter. 3,4,5 star doesn't mean shite on the field. Kid can play that is all that matters not the opinion of some moron behind a computer.

The media’s job isn’t to be positive or negative to team. That’s what LSU media relations department and Cody Worsham are for.
