Is staying in downtown BR for an LSU game a wise and/or good option?

Can't decide to stay downtown or in a hotel near the 10-12 split. Is it pretty lively downtown? Good options for getting to game? Thanks.

What would your purposes be for doing this?

Not right now, nowhere is lively right now.

Uber, maybe? But why do you ask now? They're not doing walkups, and tailgating isn't going to happen like it has in the past.

Depends on the game. I mean this season, I'm not sure how big tailgating will or can be so it might not be too crowded. But for big home games, getting back to downtown can take a long arse time (hours) b/c of traffic.

Also if you buy a drink at Pasttime (I think it's otherwise free, maybe $10, someone correct me), they'll shuttle you. But again, the shuttle has a hell of a time getting to you after the game.

The Shuttles make it fairly easy. Took us maybe 30
Mins to and less than an hour from the A&M game.

Stay downtown. Many good options like the new Courtyard by Marriott, Watermark Hotel, Hotel Indigo, and Hilton Capital HOuse Hotel. You can ride a bus from downtown to the game starting 3 hours before the game. (All this assumes normality downtown.)

There’s this quaint little bed and breakfast called the shades on highland. I’d check it out

Let me guess, you live in st george and frequent ice house?

OP, stay at staybridge at southgate, you can walk to campus and walk-ons. Restaurants, tailgaiting, and house parties are likely to be the only lively things to do.

Ignoring Covid, Downtown is a good option for a game. I wouldn't say it's the most hopping part of town, but there are several bars on 3rd street and 2 casinos down there. And on a Friday/Saturday it will at least have a respectable crowd. Downtown is a fine time and is an easy shot to the stadium. I've never done it myself, but I hear the Pastime shuttle is a good tradition.

This year is hard to tell for obvious reason. But I stayed downtown for the Florida game last year and it was amazing! So I definitely recommend

No way downtown BR could compete with this.

Downtown is an excellent place to stay...particularly if you are going to take a shuttle from the hotel or drive and park along the river road lots.

It would be during a non-covid year, but the lockdowns have pretty much shuddered downtown
