I have high hopes for Leslie....but, as the old saying goes, "there is a reason he went to junior college". Paraphrasing XCarter, there's more to playing receiver than "go long" and "get open".

No way Miles starts QL if he misses the entire spring.

First of all. Wrong link.

Second. You're an idiot for basing decisions on stats without considering the whole picture. His team sucked at throwing the ball. Nonetheless he still accounted for 36 percent of all passing yards and 70 percent of passing TD's. Playing on a fairly shitty Juco team. Stats are misleading, while Q is a potential beast. Getting motivated for LSU and a future pro career is going to be better than Juco

Go watch some highlights of Leslie. Not only will he have the best hands on the team, but...

He will NOT have the best hands on the team.

I hope he qualifies. Quantavious Leslie is the only guy, either on the team or a recruit, who can replace Barkevious Mingo.

Landry has some of the best hands at LSU in a long, long time. That was his rap in HS and it has rang true. I don't think its fair to compare anyone else's hands to his.

I can't wait to have a big fast WR to run downfield though!

The reason Leslie ended up playing Juco is because of his grades, and not a lack of skill or talent as a receiver. As stated earlier, he did not play for a very good passing team, but still produced. Sure he may have been caught looking ahead to D1 ball some during his season. At the end of the day, everyone will just have to wait until he's here, and see how he performs(believe he will do well).

There are alot of people on this board that think Leslie is the next All American WR at LSU. Im not that optimistic. I am concerned about his character. This is what I do know about Leslie: He had issues coming out of HS and took the JUCO route. He gave his word that he would pass and be an early enrollee this spring, even though he knew he was struggling with his grades.
My question is this: Do we really need this guy influencing our young team? I wish him well and hope he finally makes it to campus. Hopefully, he will work his butt off on the practice field and in the classroom and prove to everyone that he has his act together. But until he does, I will support the kids that are on campus now and remain skeptical about his overall success at LSU.

Yeah Leslie's biggest problem is work ethic in the classroom.

The fact that he failed a JUCO class during the season tells me he stopped going to class. Its fricking JUCO. Classes aren't hard.

Hopefully, Leslie realizes that he needs to pass classes at LSU to play an entire season.

If he has Sam Montgomery habits in the classroom, why do we assume he will give 100% on the field?
The notion that QL has better hands than Landry is not credible either...

Same thing I was saying. Keenan Allen for example is the #1 or #2 WR in the draft and is projected as first rounder. He had 737 yards and 6 TDs this year. What people see is a top flight talent in a bad offense with a bad QB. Same thing with Reuben Randle who definitely didn't have the stat sheet to go second round but still did.

Give me a fricking break. I'm really doubt Leslie is going to peer pressure the rest of our team into making bad grades

You have no idea how these guys work, Geaux9...
A low grade pusher like Leslie will come up to a couple of teammates at a party and say, like "Dudes, why don't you join me in Sociology 101 for a sweet an easy C...", then, when he gains their confidence it's Western Civ for a "gentleman's D; then the next thing you know, he's got them in a high level Chemistry for an F+.
These kids are young and driven by peer pressure, and will soon find themselves hooked on bad grades.

LSU needs to hire Chizick as a "grade consultant." Maybe he can put QL on the path to straight A's.
