According to an ESPN insider article which I can't link here there is a LOT of dissent in Michigan right now, with the Miles backers still simmering in the background.

No coach is perfect. Other things being equal, like wins, I'll take character over polish. Miles recruits well, which is a major component. He hires good coaches, with one/co exception, and he was trying for continuity, and got mass confusion. He has fixed that error. He had to take a stand with RP, and it hurt us. But it was a necessary surgery. Bottom line for me, I like my coach, so put my name on the hat.

I would add Tubby Smith and Frank Solich to the list.

Now you do.

He's a dickwad. Starting to try to be a smartass now. "Will we see Shep passing?" Miles answers, "I saw him passing today at practice." Dude, you're a dweeb, not a comedian.

You act like the Rant is the only fan outlet that gets spoiled over their coach. You should have heard the New York radio shows bashing Torre WHILE HE WAS WINNING 4 CHAMPIONSHIPS. Get over yourselves.

He played O-Line at Michigan, he'd squash you.

You are right- Four 10+ win seasons in five years still wont make some people happy

A ten win season will make some people, who got uncomfortable last season....a little more at ease.

There are die hard haters, die hard Miles fanatics and those in between. 95% are the latter. Watching the disaster that was last season was scary as hell.

this is the stupidest shite I've ever read...man, you are seriously fricked in the head. do you really think the job is too big for Miles? he's half of the equation that made LSU an elite power. Saban started it with facilities, recruiting and a natcham...Miles improved it with recruiting, calm, strength and a natcham all the time dealing with the Katrina-Rita disasters, the population loss (ie, athletes moving out of state), the Michigan job speculation and the resurgence of Bama under Saban. He is now faced with an SEC West loaded with fine coaches and a dwindling recruiting base which has made his job harder than anything Saban faced. Both men were and have been spectacularly successful at and for LSU...to imply that one is not big enough for the job is rampant stupidity.

This is your response to a well thought out and coherent post by specs? And you call him stupid?

If your IQ is smaller than your shoe size, you should stop posting.

Here's an example of what hurts Miles field cred... taken from an article earlier this week...

quote:

"I think there's some things that we can do better in communication," Miles said. "Maybe we need to go to the line of scrimmage with the right play. Then all (Jefferson) has to do is execute it."

He figured this out all on his own did he????

Not sure, but I think you misunderstood what I meant when I said the latter. Miles record is undoubtably better than Sabans over a 5 year span. Most support him, just a bit uneasy after last season.

Charlie Mac was disliked most of his time as well and he had some pretty good teams at LSU.
