Thanks for the ESPN number. And for giving those suckers hell. It just had to be bama and fla., didn't it? What if the game had gone into extra innings?

Anyone want to wager that ESPN2 would televise an entire LSU softball game and force Fla. or Ala.'s Spring game to play an non-televised entire 1st qtr.? Didn't think so.
I loathe both of those schools (esp. their head coaches), but I'd be pissed if ESPN showed anything else instead of their Spring games...

Well maybe JL can start

Sure, Lee can start. Start to destroy LSU's chances in 2010...

And JJ prob. would, too. It's clear (to me, anyways) that LSU has not developed either of these guys. Hopefully, Garrett will get some meaningful action today. I'd say platoon him w/JJ or JL, and play Shep back there, too.

This club is WAY too talented (the guys who are playing today and the new recruits watching on TV) for Lee and/or Jefferson to screw up the season.

They are blitzing Lee evertime he passes. He really doesnt even have a chance

Great kid. Hate to say it, but as a football QB, Lee flat-out sucks.

Those T-shirts, do they come in men's sizes?
Since 2007, these are the number of SEC games played when the opponent had an open week prior to the game:
17—Alabama
___________________________________________________________
So then, if y'all are so experienced and great in these situations, what the frick is wrong with six more this season?
Also, since Darling Nicky's led you to 16-0 the past 2 years in SEC play, why fix something that isn't broken? BTW, where did you get the numb3rs for this? Thanks.

great to see miles being a hard arse finally. maybe the team will play with a fire.

Yeah, but like the rest of us, he's only doing that 'cos he's afraid people on the Rant will give him more shite than they usually do. Give me a fricking break.

Since WHEN is a SID making excuses and comments for the football team? Miles allows Bonnette to speak for him?

It's MB's job. He also writes or tweaks coaches' and even Alleva's statements, as well.

Bonnette is not just the SID, he's also Associate Athletic Director. Most of the time, he's the "University, or Athletics Dept. spokesperson," especially when these things happen on weekends (particularly in the off-season). I'm sure we'll hear from guys higher on the food chain soon as the investigation is more complete.

He nearly made 2 errors in 2 plays.

Listen, if you're gonna try to correct the dude and focus on "nearly," at least use the correct word, which is "almost." Look it up.
OK, let's just get this line out of the way now: "...please return to their full, upright position."

So easy even a girl can do it...
People will be surprised by them, but they shouldn't be. There is a lot of great baseball played in Cali, it's just a different style than we're used to. I wouldn't mind going watch a few Pepperdine games at their home field, I heard Pam Anderson goes to their games on a regular basis (from a reliable source).

Your source is right. She, along with other celebs, are Pepperdine athl. boosters. She lives like 700 feet from the campus and the baseball stadium. Like Craig T. Nelson, who funds the crew team. My husband attended and worked at Prep-erdine, and they won the College W.S. in '96 (I think, around that time, anyways).

holy shite there are some dumb mf'ers in this thread

As opposed to those recently on the many other threads these days?
Rohan2Reed--Thanks for the story.
2011 does make some sense, 'cos RR is on the hot seat and if he doesn't go over .500, beat Ohio State and/or gets in a bowl game, he's probably gone. The NCAA probs. don't help him at all, and Miles will get a call, at least.

Regardless of how LSU does this year, he might not want to wait for another who knows how many years when the Mich. job will be open again.
It's amazing to see how much cred Miles has w/some of you guys in this thread that he otherwise never gets (except for those being sarcastic).

Athlets like Harvin come around once a decade or so. Really not fair to compare. Just ask any gator fan

Well, I would expect any Gator fan to feel that way. After all, he was a star for your team (which was probably the best of the decade). also, you guys got to see him play every down in his career and we didn't.

There were though, lots of other players who were great in just half of the decade: D. Hester, D. McFadden & F. Jones, A. Petersen, R. Bush, Ingram, Slaton & White, Crabtree, C. Williams, C. Benson, V. Young, D. Jackson, K. Moreno, M.D. Jones, McCluster, etc. I defintely put Harvin in w/those guys for sure.

shep will make his mark at LSU if the coaches give him the oppurtunity (which we still do not know will even happen), i just think harvin was a unique athlete in the perfect situation for him.

First, excellent thread. Kudos.
I know, I know, we can't trust Miles (or Crowton, esp. when it involves Shepard, but yesterday Miles went to great lengths to announce RS will "officially" be a WR and, sometimes, at RB. Miles, as far as he wants, added that Shep's no longer a QB (though he kinda left the door open for him to take direct-snaps on ocasion).

Miles also said the goal is to have RS on the field on every down, regardless of the situaion. That leaves him w/very little wiggle-room if this doesn't happen (unless RS has a real injury and not the ones Miles invents). Also, having him return kicks will be great, IMHO.

This is why, despite those folks here who are convinced the Spring Game is meaningless, I want to see Shep at WR/RB/KR (even if it is a glorified and more organized practice).

Grow up soon and see if you could last an entire day, well let me re-phrase that since you'd probably only last less than 1 minute (us girls can just sense that, even online, ya know), without attacking a single Ranter. Just one day?
Also, a few posters asked me for this particular link 'cos they couldn't find the one I provided on the CCB.

Yeah, old school "rub some dirt on it!"
Remember when Sheppard knocked him in his grill.
I agree. He's one of the best catching-TEs in LSU history. I know we use TEs for blocking, but where would Tebow be, esp. this season, w/o his TE?
Dickson is great in those no-huddle, quick-snap pass plays (they run those plays well to him in the red-zone). Since Flynn--remember the BCS Champ. game?

We're blessed that my folks always watch 'em when we go to home and road games. Even when the games are on TV, it's still a challenge.

I'd recommend not taking your son to tomorrow's game, what with the crowd noise, the cold night air, and their limited attention span, etc. At 3 months, though, wow. I wouldn't do that if I were you, but you know what's best for your child.

My husband (& fellow Ranter) has worked almost as long as Carl has, and even if you learn this when you're 14, you never forget it. But, it still ain't easy.

>>>>>>Well, here's my solution--from a girl's perspective. Tell her you can't make the wedding/reception, but you would--just to go with her--but you have tickets to the LSU game.
Then, ask her to not get another date because you'd like to hook up w/her at the game. Also, of the wedding's at 1 p.m. & the reception's nearby, how long is that damn thing gonna last?

Then, you beg, borrow and steal and figure out a way to get her to the stadium (even if she has to duck out early). Then, your first "date" is an LSU football game (and blowout), and sports dates are cool and not so over-the-top, ya know?
Also, she doesn't have to share your complete passion for football, but it's a great start anyways. Good night and Good luck!!!!!
