i think PM believes we need watkins, and i dont necessarily disagree with him. he's the perfect lead off man and far better at than anyone else

problem is, he's just simply not producing and i think the 2 errors today was the last straw. he's gonna sit for a while, and he absolutely should

I will never crucify a coach for not bunting. However, every situation is different. It just depends on the situation.

For example, the bunt against Princeton in the 9th earlier this season was a big time bonehead decision for me. However, it could have still worked out.

He was pretty good last year before he got hurt. It looks like he's trying to hit for power and therefore hitting a lot of pop-ups.

he might be our best fit at the 1 hole bit he screwed us today and deserves to sit awhile but we shouldn't give up on him yet

I'd chalk the miss catch up but he did it last Sunday too

Yeah, against mediocre non-conference teams.

This thread should be pinned to the top and labeled "The kind of retardation this board can produce"

Seriusly, I think everyone who has posted in this thread, including myself, may be the biggest idiots on this planet.

I hope to God that the majority of posts here are by kids who never entered LSU. If you can coach better than PM, then I'm sure LSU wants to hear from you. If you can play better than the kids that you're bitching about, then why aren't you on the field? You asscats wish you had the balls that those players do. Those players represent the university that I graduated from and hell yeah, I'm proud of them come win or lose. How many on here that are bitching even graduated or attend LSU? My guess would be about 1%. I'm sure you whiners will call me names, but I don't care. I have two degrees from LSU.

This thread is hilarious. One-hit wonder? Trust me...not if, but WHEN we get another one, does that buy him more than 1 year of repirieve from the fan base.

Some ppl in here jumped off the cliff before we had the nice streak in 2007 as well.

One-hit wonder is Fresno State.

Has Mainieri fielded, hit, or thrown a ball in a game this year, or last year, or the 2 years before?????

Only time will tell. Confidence. Baseball NC's simply are extremely hard to come by. Luck is needed. If baseball fans know anything, they know baseball is about losing and fighting back.

Yes in '06 I was praying we didn't sign him much like CLM. I also have taken much heat from saying Ott was overrated I'm his freshman season and I believe I came out on top of that too

Have to love stupid people pm has done a great job at lsu the national championship expectations every year are ridiculous it's not the 70's where you have 3 legit teams and the rest are just playing to see how far they can go college baseball is now about who gets hot at theright time and who executes the best at the end of the year

I will not even click on the fricking "Tiger Rant" link on this website until the fricking baseball season is over because of the amount of fricktards in this thread.

+1

Mainieri might be most respected coach in the SEC outside of Ray Tanner and Mike Bianco. He inherited a very very untalented team in 2007 and coached them to a championship 3 years later.

To be honest Paul's stressing right now, trying to press the right buttons...if you watch the players they're basically running through the motions right now. No emotion since the 9th inning Friday night against Florida...none! They need to wake up, good news is it's only the 2nd weekend of SEC play and to have this happen in the middle of March is better than early May when regional bids are looming.

Perhaps Mainieri should make him do push-ups everytime he pops one up...ala Willie Mayes Hayes
