My buddy has season tix in multiple locations. In previous years he has made a handsome profit on these seats. This year, not so much. His response, gotta take the good with the bad. His reason for having the tix is to pass on to his children and grandchildren. He has NO intention of selling the tix and in fact, is relishing in the fact the some fair-weather fans will dump tix and allow him to improve his seats. So go ahead, sell your tix, make a statement! BTW, when my son attended LSU I was one of the friends that purchased season tix from him every year.

Exactly. You won't see season ticket holders bitching about how they can only sell their tickets for more than they paid in the good years.

This year is a shite home schedule, a shite offense, a shite head coach... it's just shite. Nobody is going to pay you top dollar for shite.

Because its not a free market for loyal ticket holders. Our prices never go down only up. Then on top of face value we are hit with TAF fees we cant recover.

Sure it is. Just because you bought something for $1 yesterday doesn't mean it will hold it's same value today. It's a gamble.

FWIW, I do feel your pain though but outside of straight up refund (which they wouldn't even consider let alone discuss), you're stuck.

Damn I sold my 3 tickets in 402 for 126 each on Tues.
Wow, many suckers out there!

If I wanted to, I could walk up to the stadium on Saturday and buy 12 for 6 dollars each before the game, but I don't come out in the daylight for LSU games and am forced to sit this one out. (Thanks Demonic CBS Day Devils)

Rather than have unused tickets, they should give them away to kids or anyone willing to show up. Plant the seeds for future fans. Fill the stadium. Etc.

If there’s apathy, it’s because people know this team isn’t good. They expected more from the campaign promises of Coach Oeaux Neaux and a worse product has been produced. Florida is not good so last week was good to win but it’s not really a significant win.

I’ve never understood why season ticket holders always complain about this type of thing. It’s the free market. If LSU is selling them, they have every right to do so. As a season ticket holder, YOU decided to buy them.

Yes it is a free market and the season ticket holders have a right to respond to poor business practices and poor play as they see fit. If you want to talk about "rights" then they also have the right to bitch on a message board if they want. I've never understood why message board posters complain about these sort of things.

This will be a very easy ticket tomorrow if you just hold off and buy one outside of the stadium right before kickoff. I'd be shocked if you'd have to pay more than $20.

I would think that logically, I should not be in competition with LSU if I want to sell a few games when all my tickets aren't used.

Why is that logical? You have unused tickets, LSU has unused tickets. Both of you are trying to move your unused commodity in an effort to offset loss. Logically, you are very much in competition.

You chose to buy season tickets at a predetermined price. And for the predetermined price, you received guaranteed seat locations and ordering preference for any postseason tickets.

I don't think the ticket office is that smart and capable of doing it. Have you ever seen them be the efficient?

I wouldn't doubt they gave a big contract to some connected firm to do it for LSU.

That's ignorant.

If it were a free market then when the demand goes down the cost goes down. For casual fans the costs do go down.

For season ticket holders the costs go up or remain stagnant. In a free market pricing is determined by supply and demand not by decree.

Free market is not a casino.

Lol another tax genius that doesn't know that a deduction does not get your money back. It lowers your overall tax burden.

Someone that had 1000 TAF fee gets to lower their tax burden by 800 dollars. That doesnt mean you get 800 dollars back lmao its not even close. For most its just 250 depending tax bracket.

If this is accurate it is total crap to the season ticket holders. This sets the market and screws those 65k that are loyal season ticket holders

Are you really on here complaining because you can't sell your season tickets for above face value? Seriously...frick you

Nope, it's reality sorry to inform you.

How do you think those ticket prices/season tickets were priced? LSU placed a market price on those season tickets without any guarantee that they would retain their value. Now fans are bitching because their investment was derailed.

I'd be pissed too that I lost the value, but I wouldn't fault the ticket office.

Yes, actually it is just under another name. Your "investment" in these tickets may be affect by market forces (a la a shitty LSU product, supply and demand of the tickets, etc); thus, you are gambling that the value remains the same.
