Is LSU the next Tennessee?

Next to the Crimson Tide Tennessee used to be a perennial powerhouse program. The 9th winningest FBS program of all-time. It hasn't been in the final top 10 since 2001. Why, like LSU coaches recruit 4 and 5 star players and downgrade them to 2 star players. Lack of development, rather, inability to develop. Coach O has no clue. 2019 was the exception, not the rule. Keep O fans will go. Players revolt. That's all folks.

LSU must hire a coach who has a PROVEN track record on developing all that talent the great State of Louisiana has to offer. Louisiana is a recruiters dream. I grew up there. Every FBS program foams at the mouth to get Louisiana recruits into their program.

No. Les was our Fulmer. We survived firing him and O actually won a ship. Everyone understands this hire is important. Scott won’t miss. We good. . .

LSU has played in 4 and won 3 natties with 3 different coaches since 2000. I don’t believe TN is a comparison.

LSU is the only P5 school in one of the most talent rich states in the country we have won 2 national championship and been to another championship game under fricking Les Miles and Special Ed.

the only way we fall that far is if the money runs dry....and shite, thats possible, but the factors that led to Nebraska, Tennessee, FSU, etc falling are not present at LSU.
I think its more likely we look like USC or Texas--a talented but undisciplined team that gets destroyed in the trenches by better coached teams.

Louisiana has some
Of the best talent in the country Tennessee has little instate talent. Big differences

Regardless of what this board thinks, LSU is a premier job. All the resources you could ask for, plenty of local talent to recruit, no major in-state competition. It'll take a good hire to get us back on track, but I have faith in Woody to find the right guy.

Tennessee’s problem was letting Fulmer stay too long, even though the program had been continually sinking under his leadership. If LSU had let Les Miles hang around, we’d be in the same shape as Tenn.

So much instate talent LA vs Tenn

If we replace Ed with Ed we'll be worse than UTenn.
Before last year and now, I didn't think I'd ever see what I'm seeing at LSU. We were .500 last year (and fortunate to be that) and in all honesty it's hard to see winning another game other than ULM.
We have a much better recruiting footprint than UTenn so there's that but I no longer casually dismiss the OP's question.

That dude havoc should start hanging out with elleshoe so they can beat up everyone over the internet as a team.
I think we may have some overcompensating goin on with those two and in person they would both be some bitches saying “I didn’t mean it”

Well, Tennessee hired y’all’s boy Kiffin after Fulmer and a lot of Tennessee fans point to that hire and subsequent walking out as the point which the program changed.
Since ‘08 they’ve had 6 different head coaches and 2 more interims.
We cannot afford 8 different people at the helm of our program over the next 13 years. We have to make the right hire and give him time.
I’m worried that with SEC expansion if we don’t get it figured out quick, we are going to be relegated to the basement.
