Bowden at one point in time considered coaching at LSU.

He's not a Christian nutjob like Bobby, so that's a plus.

Numerous Grambling officials spoke about former Grambling football coach Eddie Robinson's legacy Monday after Robinson again became the winningest football coach in Division I history after former Penn State coach Joe Paterno had 111 wins vacated by NCAA sanctions.

Robinson finished his 57-season career at Grambling in 1997 with 408 wins. Before the NCAA sanctions, Paterno had 409, the last coming a week before the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal broke.

Miles took a top 10-12 program and turned it into a top 3 program.
Top 3 what? LSU is not even top three in the S.E.C. currently. Tigers didn't finish in the Top Ten and there were five S.E.C. teams ranked ahead of us in the final season ending polls. Meanwhile, three out of four was going down to the northeast of us.

And in 04 we were 4th in the SEC, out of the west race in Oct, and #16 in the nation...so what?

The LSU program since 05 leads both BCS football and SEC football in wins, leads the west in titles, and has as many SEC titles as any SEC school since 05.

LSU is easily a top 3 program in the SEC and Top 5 nationally since 05.

Has LSU EVER been able to say that for any relevant period of time in our history.....NO!

Rather that "BRAVEHEART", seems CHICKENHEART might better describe your LSU approach.

So you're going to judge the level of Les' program by a snapshot of current standings? Fine. But by your standard, Saban did not even build a top 15 program at LSU. At the time Miles was hired, LSU had finished the 2004 9-3 season outside the top 15 of both polls (after starting the 2004 season in the top 4 of each), and ranked behind 3 other SEC teams (in a conference that only had 2 teams ranked in the top 10; compared with 5 top 10 teams last year). That doesn't sound like an "elite" or "top" program at all, does it?

See how silly it is to judge a coach's performance at a program by a single snapshot?

Also both are completely mesmerizing when doing public speaking. Bobby had the slick southern schtick down, and Les... well he is mesmerizing when he talks for a different reason. lol.

Lonnie, before you get carried away with your self righteous indignation, you should take a look at some facts that support some of thi s hyperbole:
First, Bowden was a joke for almost his last full decade of coaching and FSU was a football Thuggery of the first order.
Second, lots of football fans consider Les to be a game day bonehead, and have laughed at his televised errors. Some of these same fans think that overall he is one of the best coaches in the NCAA .
He is one of a kind...

Bowden had the IQ of a common fruit fly, so you make the comparison.

And you might want to reread the part, "He ran a morally degenerate, thug POS, depraved program over at FSU" and where the poster implied Les Miles was doing the same or was the same kinda coach.

I know that this is a sports forum and just bout anything goes, but lumping the BB program with the LM program is BS and if you can see that, you don't need to worry bout whether I get carried away or not cause you got bigger issues of your own to deal with.
