Thanks AT.
Wondering if I should change from Skenes on my Fantasy pick. Had Hurd but he might not be pitching....

Why would it not be Hurd on Saturday?

Sounds like Hurd will throw Tuesday, setting him up to throw the following Tuesday against Texas. After that he'll probably move to Saturday.

I think I would put Shores in that spot. Let the youngster get a taste of a big time road environment.

Hurd needs that environment just as much

Makes a lot of sense if that's the direction JJ is going with Hurd. Still can't wrap my head around Cooper over Floyd. Maybe just wants a change of velocity between the two power starters?

I feel, in pitching, confidence is key. Going out there in Austin and possibly laying an egg in your first ever collegiate start seems like a horrible foundation for a frosh.

I dont get Cooper over Floyd either but Floyd probably starts next weekend over Cooper.

Think Jay basically wants to start like 6 different pitchers before conference play and let things play out.

Saturday: Riley Cooper

I see cooper is still CJJ favorite
must have some dirt on him unless he improved greatly this off season

I think that's exactly it. He knows he's got depth. Why not exercise that depth while the stakes are low?

Also, we're going to have less innings to tinker around with over the course of the season due to the lame frickin' mercy rule nonsense.

I’m sure it has something to do with the fact that Cooper has a 0.93 ERA and sub-1 WHIP in spring scrimmages. Cooper might throw 3 innings Saturday and give way to Floyd, who knows. Jay and Wes have a plan and we should probably trust them.

A sub 1.00 ERA in the spring against possibly the most stacked lineup in the NCAA may have something to do with that as well.

Maybe some trickery. Throw Cooper the first inning then bring in Floyd? It's an interesting decision to go with Cooper for multiple innings over Floyd.

Maybe our team has trouble against lefties? that’s been a past theme

And my guess to those 6 would probably be Skenes, Floyd, Hurd, Cooper, Collins and Shores.

Taylor would have made 7.

Then they find their Top 3 + 1 from that group and closer.
