Or it could be cooper just went 5 shut out innings against this offense on Monday and if you can silence this roster you can silence any roster

Maybe so does Western Michigan?

It was 4 innings and on Friday last week
LINK /

Money went 3 shutout innings with 5 K's on Sunday

Coopers came against more likely starters than Money's though

must have some dirt on him unless he improved greatly this off season

He was good after a rough first month of the season last year and had a bad regional game against Kennesaw St. He also pitched well in the spring and fall.

From March 19 of last year (game 2 of the A&M series) through the end of the regular season, Cooper allowed 6 ER over 27.1 innings with 4 BBs, 29 H (Opp BA .259) and only 6 XBHs.

In the Spring he pitched 9.2 innings, and gave up just 1 run on 3 hits and had a 0.83 WHIP.

In the Fall he pitched 17.1 innings, giving up 7 ER on 25 hits while striking out 25 and walking just 3.

So in the Fall and Spring combined, he pitched 27 innings, giving up 8 ER (2.67 ERA), giving up 28 hits, while walking 7 and striking out 36.

Call me crazy, but I think having a reliable lefty who can throw long relief and start a game is a pretty good asset to have. We have 5-6 guys who can start a game. I'm sure we'll see a number of those starting on different days leading up to SEC play.

That's probably it since all of our lefties have below a 1.0 era?

And could you imagine opposing teams' thought process when they've been seeing 91 from the left side for two times through the rotation and in comes a 6'5 righty throwing 97? Talk about a change of pace.

Also, we're going to have less innings to tinker around with over the course of the season due to the lame frickin' mercy rule nonsense.

The rule only applies to SEC games. In '22 it would have come in to play 3x. A W vs Moo State after 8inn in gm3, an L vs OM after 8inn in gm2 & a W vs Vandy after 8inn in gm3.
