Jeremy Hill may not be the 3rd most talented running back on THIS YEAR'S TEAM.

I think you're wrong, buddy. I was rolling my eyes about all the homers who were saying stuff about Hill, and had it not been for one play this week I would still be on your side. That one play was when they handed off to Hill and there was a defensive player in the backfield right in front of Hill. Hill accelerated around the left end so fast the guy had no chance. That acceleration was special, especially in a RB so big and powerful. It wasn't much, but I think we might have the real deal here. Just like the OP said, the best talent since Cecil.

what happened to CECIl the purse snatcher??

Your thinking of Larry Foster, the wide receiver. He was the purse snatcher.

Cecil was a snatch snatcher - or was at least about to be when the girl woke up.

He's still in jail and due out in 2014. One of the biggest wastes of talent ever. The dude had over 600 yards and averaged 8.3 yds/carry in basically 3 games (2 SEC ones) before getting hurt after just a couple touches into his 4th game. And then the rest happened...

And didn't Foster get run down by some fat arse student? Or was that Collins?

Yeah, that was Foster after he stole the purse. That incident was completely bizarre.

Collins, as far as I know, broke into a home of a neighbor and she woke up to find him standing there along with her husband. Totally strange - he said he just wanted to watch her sleep when the cops got there. I don't think he took anything or did anything other than break in. He got 15 years - probably a good thing cause no telling what he would've built up to doing...

Those who are able to discern extraordinary talent on such scant evidence should contact Les Miles immediately and let him know what the coaching staff has been missing.

That's what message boards are for, nitwit. But I have to agree with the OP. The media folks have been talking about Hill being so explosive and so on. But the general public hasn't gotten to see it on display. So, combined with the few touches we saw Saturday AND the write-ups and reports from camps, scrimmages, etc, I'll drink the kool aid.

Hill for Heisman 2013.

eta: Kind of like Landry. We heard how great his hands were and how he would have a big impact this year. So when it happened from the get-go, not many of us were surprised. Right?

We have the most dramatic fanbase in the entire country. After the 1st week our fans were freaking out b/c Mett didn't throw the ball down field enough, Alabama was too good and our secondary wouldn't recover w/o Tyrann. 2nd week the story changed to an arrogance that we will slaughter everyone. And now after Jeremy Hill has an ok 4th quater against one of the worst teams in D1 football and he's the most talented back at LSU in the past 25 years. Also to the OP kevin faulk was much better and look for our starting job to go Blue-Hilliard-Fournette.

Of course this is a fan board and fans are entitled to disagree with coaches. I do.
But the notion that Hill is already 1) better than all the other backs on this team and 2) in fact, better than any back at LSU since Collins, is absurd.
Even for Rantards it's absurd.
Now THAT's saying something...

Actually if Cecil Collins doesn't break his leg in the Vanderbilt game and then get kicked off the team for legal trouble, then Faulk would NEVER have gotten his starting job back. Cecil Collins was just that talented and the head coach even said it at the time as well.

I understand there's a move afoot to rename the Indian Mounds the Indian Hills in his honor.
