I dunno.. the fake on 4th and 12 was a bit of a head scratcher against a team with that much speed.
4th and 5 or less, i love it.
How can anyone scratch their head after the fake at ASU? It only sucks if it don't work and I'm so freaking glad he pulled out all the stops to win the game.
eta: exactly Jax

I love LSU and so proud of the program that brings me and all of us much joy. Part of being a fan is tough losses, and winning big games so sweet.
Just mentioned in another thread that we have our USC 79 game. It'll take a little more time but as it passes, we'll appreciate the game more and more.
I also compare it to the Fla 2007 game but that night LSU made the plays and went up by 4. Great games with great teams on the field. But I also remember this: Meyer promised the Gators would be back after that loss and en route to 08 BCS, Tebow made a promise after a fluke loss to Ole Miss.

It is really hard to say I don't believe in moral victories after that game. I know a loss is a loss but damn. Did anyone else see those two freshman olinemen play out of their minds against the best defense in cfb? Hard not to get excited about that!
This generation finally got OUR USC 1979 game. Older folks I'm sure were pissed as hell for while after that game knowing it was within reach and nobody, nationally anyhow, gave LSU a chance in hell at winning. Sound familiar?
We were there. We can tell our kids and the LSU students in 2030 about how loud it was that night for 59 minutes and again for the team after the game. Plus we'll have tons of media to back it up.

If Mett plays lights out every game no chance. If not, Hill is definitely a contender. It is nice that we have Heisman caliber guys at QB and RB for once. I wish it was next season already.
Haha I'm ready to DESTROY the poor bastards in front of us after Saturday night. These guys got a taste of what they are capable of when both sides play well. I sure hope they play lights out through 2012 and whether we go to Dallas or eek into a Sugar bowl, dominate and prepare for next season's tougher schedule with a much tougher group of guys experience-wise.

I am afraid of this as well. But at least others are taking note of something POTENTIALLY special like a Mark Ingram type back or dare we say Cecil!!!
It's just saying a lot for someone to shine that brightly and quickly in such a deep backfield. :geauxtigers:

You hate the fact that we have a true freshman running back who has set himself apart as the premier featured back in arguably one of the most talented and deepest backfields in the country?
I am proudly posting that I said it early as well. But lots of people pointed at mop-up duty or cupcake defenses. Some of us weren't just optimistic but saw something we haven't seen in a while. Not knocking Addai, Toefield, Davis, Ridley, Ford, Keiland, JV, or any of those good backs.
I said outloud at the game "holy crap we haven't seen this since Faulk" after his FIRST big run of the season. Granted KW had that amazing VT run but never got fair chance after that IMO and we know what JV did after 2003.
Fingers Crossed. Hil for Heisman 2014. I'm drinking the koolaid.

Stay in NOLA and drive in for the game. The BR bar scene sucks.
That's just false for a game weekend especially. Bars will be hopping from Thursday - Sunday with new sunday permits(Bulldog for sure).
Downtown after the game or obviously Tigerland if you're 18-25. Both will be similar to the strip in Tuscaloosa after a big game.
eta: oz, bourbon pub, splash in br are all gay bars.

I actually noticed our lineman watching a runner get stacked up after one play on Saturday...and was surprised he wasn't pushing the pile
You don't suppose coaches want those big guys out of the big pile ups for fear of further injuires to our thin o-line? Just a curious thought. I wouldn't think a coach would ever suggest that but can't think of any other reason a lineman watches his RB get thrown backwards.

I thought this before the season & his performance vs SC solidified my opinion. I'm sure I'll have some people, lots of people, disagree & that's your right. The End
I said it after he had those early season touches that the hype has been validated b/c I admittedly hadn't seen him carry the ball in Spring or any scrimmage clips.
On board here!

the only real negatigers are those who can't appreciate the good things and the good qualities of our coaching staff. Nobody's perfect. Not even Saint Nick.
exactly. I wanted Saban gone after UAB then I loved him and wanted him to stay even after the Iowa frickstick of a game.
I wanted Miles gone after clock debacle, Tenn luck-up, and the Fla game this year but not after the BCS game.
I questioned our entire baseball team after the Appy state series early in the season.
So those are personal examples. But certain things about the program affect us all differently, including the amount of alcohol consumed before logging on here.
I knew we would win Saturday night.

No, for using his picture in a fricking LSU jersey to promote their shitty music. Even going as far as to give him VIP status and promote that the entire football team will be at concerts.
Didn't some NC players get suspended for similar VIP and free booze at a party from an agent in Miami? This seems minor compared to that and they weren't kicked off team. Worst case would be an additional short suspension if anything. But I don't know the precedent for these things.

On topic, I think he looked decent against the Gators. I personally don't worry about a mobile QB against our D. The "towson scrambler" was lucky. He won't outrun our D.
