As bad as Hawthorne is, he's somehow still better than ull's pbp guy. The ull guy didn't realize Tyler Moore was in the game until the 9th inning. Kept calling him Alex Edward

Eta: well this is Germans in this thread now

That dude was just awful. Made me appreciate Hawthorne, that's how bad he was.

that was great though. i also like how the president or whatever came on while they were getting drilled and pulled the "im more concerned with what they do in the classroom" speech.

When is Hawthorne gonna throw the cleats in the locker? I really like Charlie's tone for baseball.

It was their AD, he also claimed their basketball team was in the postseason last year.

Tv announcers were terrible. Tyler Moore had 3 hits before they reallzed he was in the game. Down 11-0 the cajuns got a 2 run single and this guy says "now you see what could have been." Good times.

Yeah, Hawthorne shined compared to the other guys, no joke!

Yeah that was some good stuff. It was a very entertaining game watching it on the ull stream.

I'm not all that concerned with the ULL tv broadcasters, so I don't care how Hawthorne stacks up with them. He rapidly declining in qulaity and seems angrier and angrier with every passing day. It's time to get someone else in there.

Personally, I find football the worst. I used to love to watch the Tiger Replay on Mondays, which would sync up video of the game with Hawthorne's call. If LSU is on defense, you can be certain that a "wide open receiver with no one around him" usually meant a receiver was open underneath a zone coverage and picked up about 6-7 yards on the play. On the same note, a "huge hole to run through" also normally nets a 5 yard gain for our opponents.

I will admit that calling the play by play live as it happens is not as easy as it seems. In football Hawthorne's negativity gets in the way of a good broadcast. The worst part of his baseball broadcasts is his commentary between the pitches.

In fairness to all...I have been to that ballpark and it is dimly lit and hard to see the ball...especially when you have seen every game this year at the Box.

Well they run a Monday Night Football 3-man crew for basketball which is ridiculous. It is hard enough to have 2 people on a radio basketball broadcast, let alone 3.

Hawthorne has been declining ever since there were two Mitchell's on the basketball team at the same time. those years took a lot out of him

Hawthorne never shines!!!!!

He's just better than that two bit announcer they had. LSU can, and should, do much better.
